It's not just another night in Mississippi; tonight's Mississippi Match 5 drawing could rewrite state lottery history. After months of anticipation and a string of rollovers, the homegrown game has hit a milestone no one's seen before. What started as a modest pot months ago has grown into something truly eye-catching — and now, players across the state are wondering: could tonight finally be the night?

Groundbreaking territory

The Mississippi Lottery has announced that the Mississippi Match 5 jackpot has reached uncharted territory. For the first time in the draw game's history, the jackpot has reached seven figures.

For tonight's drawing, the current jackpot sits at $1.08 million. This current jackpot run started in April, and we have seen 50 drawings since the last winner, which was April 12, 2025, for $141,000.

The draw game recently celebrated its 1,000th draw, and now the 1,003rd draw could make someone in the state a millionaire.

The jackpot reset to $50,000 on April 13, and has steadily grown since that time. The rolling jackpot is now the highest jackpot in the game's history, with the previous jackpot record being $905,168, which was won on February 7, 2023.

Enthusiasm for the game

In a statement, Mississippi Lottery Corporation President Jeff Hewitt said:

This is an exciting moment not just for our players, but for the Mississippi Lottery as a whole. Hitting the million-dollar threshold is a first for Match 5, and it shows just how much enthusiasm players have for this game.

Drawings for Mississippi Match 5 are held every night at around 9:30 p.m. CT. Tickets cost $2 per play, and an additional multiplier feature for non-jackpot prizes is available for $1 more per play.

Could it be a record-breaking night in Mississippi tonight?

Lotto America continues to grow

While the jackpot continues to grow for Mississippi Match 5, the same could be said for Lotto America, which did not see a jackpot winner over the weekend. The multi-state draw game has actually not seen a jackpot winner since April 24, 2024.

While it's been 50 draws for Mississippi Match 5 since the last jackpot winner, it has been 172 draws for Lotto America. The jackpot has now climbed to $37.27 million, making it the second-highest jackpot ever.

The record-breaking jackpot for Lotto America came in April 2023. At that time, Earl Lape of Dubuque, Iowa, matched all of the winning numbers drawn to win $40 million.

Can someone finally take home the Lotto America jackpot tonight? The next drawing will take place at 9:15 p.m. CT tonight.

Powerball crowns its fourth jackpot winner of 2025

While Mississippi Match 5 and Lotto America are still looking for their next jackpot winner, Powerball crowned its fourth winner of 2025 over the weekend. One lucky ticket purchased in California matched all the winning numbers — white balls 1, 29, 37, 56, and 68, and Powerball of 13 — to win the $204.5 million jackpot.

This happened to be the fourth jackpot win for Powerball players in 2025, with two of those jackpot-winning tickets being sold in California:

  • A $328.5 million jackpot was won on January 18, 2025, with a winning ticket sold in Oregon.
  • A $526.5 million jackpot was won on March 29, 2025, with a winning ticket sold in California.
  • A $167.3 million jackpot was won on April 26, 2025, with a winning ticket sold in Kentucky.
  • A $204.5 million jackpot was won on May 31, 2025, with a winning ticket sold in California.

Enjoy playing the Mississippi Lottery, and please remember to play responsibly.
