Thirteen state lotteries just turned scratch-off tickets into a shot at Hollywood. Scientific Games launched its new GAME SHOW EXPERIENCE this week, and the prize isn't just cash. It's a plane ticket to Los Angeles and a seat on the set of “The Price Is Right.”

Four markets are live already. Nine more will launch by December 1, 2026. The full lineup, in launch order: Iowa, South Carolina, Tennessee, Maryland, Delaware, South Dakota, Arkansas, Pennsylvania, Texas, the District of Columbia, Kansas, Illinois, and Maine. More lotteries could join later.

What is the GAME SHOW EXPERIENCE?

Think of it as a lottery game built around three TV classics. “The Price Is Right” anchors the promotion. “Family Feud,” marking 50 years on air in 2026, and “Press Your Luck” round out the lineup. Scientific Games built the games with Fremantle, the studio behind all three shows.

Players buy in through scratch-offs, Fast Play tickets, or digital games. Win instantly, or enter a second-chance drawing. That drawing is where things get interesting.

Why would a scratch-off ticket send you to L.A.?

More than 100 second-chance winners get a five-day, four-night trip to Los Angeles. They'll sit in the audience for a live taping of “The Price Is Right.” Then they head back to that same stage for something no ordinary fan gets: a lottery-only GAME SHOW EXPERIENCE event, set for fall 2027.

Up to $10 million in cash is on the line. Here's the twist: whoever makes the final round gets their winnings matched. That matched amount is then split evenly among every other trip winner. Everybody who makes the trip walks away with something.

Is this new, or just new packaging?

Scientific Games didn't invent this idea overnight. The company pioneered the "Linked Game" concept back in 2007, running branded winner events for names like “Deal or No Deal,” “Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory,” and, most recently, “Game of Thrones.” Combined, those games have generated more than $7 billion in retail value.

South Carolina is layering on its own twist. Beyond the four trip winners the state expects, nine additional players will compete in a locally produced Showcase Showdown for up to $26,000. " ‘The Price Is Right’ is always so inclusive of its fans, and SCEL is excited to offer so many chances to win," said Scott Warner, SCEL Lottery Product Director.

What's next for Scientific Games?

A “Jurassic World”-themed Linked Game is already scheduled for this fall in Hawaii, where the original JURASSIC PARK was filmed.

Scientific Games works with 150 lotteries across 50 countries and holds licensing rights to more than 100 brands. Tina Hoover, VP of Licensing for Scientific Games, stated:

The incredibly broad and sustained appeal of these classic TV game show brands brings to life the surprise, joy, and wins that players love.

For players in the 13 launch states, the pitch is simple. Buy a ticket, and you might just end up standing on a soundstage in Los Angeles, hoping the price is right.
