Mega Millions is rewriting its own record book. With no winner since summer, the jackpot has climbed to near-billion-dollar territory (currently sitting at an estimated $843 million), making this one of the longest jackpot runs in lottery history. And Powerball's not far behind, either.

Record-breaking jackpot run

The Mega Millions jackpot is inching closer to $1 billion, as the last jackpot win took place on June 27. At that time, one lucky ticket in Virginia won $348 million, the biggest Mega Millions jackpot win in the state's history.

With that being said, the Friday, November 7, 2025, drawing will be the 38th drawing since the last jackpot win. This is the longest streak without a jackpot winner since the multi-state draw game debuted in 2002.

The previous record for draws without a jackpot winner was 37, which was set on January 22, 2021. At that time, a ticket in Michigan won the $1.05 billion jackpot.

The next jackpot win will be the fifth one of 2025. Besides the Virginia win in June, the other jackpot wins in 2025 were in Ohio ($112 million on April 18), Illinois ($349 million on March 25), and Arizona ($112 million on January 17).

Powerball jackpot keeps climbing

While the focus is on the Mega Millions jackpot, the Powerball jackpot isn't too far behind. The last jackpot win came back in September, when tickets purchased in Texas and Missouri split the $1.79 billion jackpot. That amount happened to be the second biggest Powerball jackpot in the game's history.

Since that time, we have seen 27 draws without a jackpot winner. The Powerball jackpot has made its way up to $467 million, with a cash option of $218.1 million. That means the combined jackpot totals for the Powerball and Mega Millions games are over $1.3 billion.

Other big jackpots this weekend

While the Powerball and Mega Millions jackpots typically generate most of the lottery buzz out there, there are plenty of other state-specific games that have some big jackpots available this weekend. Those jackpots are:

  • Lotto Texas – This Texas Lottery draw game's jackpot has climbed to $75.25 million for the Saturday, November 8 drawing.
  • Lotto 47 – This Michigan Lottery draw game's jackpot has climbed to $19 million for the Saturday, November 8 drawing.
  • SuperLotto Plus – This California Lottery draw game's jackpot has climbed to $14 million for the Saturday, November 8 drawing.
  • The Pick – This Arizona Lottery draw game's jackpot has climbed to $11 million for the Saturday, November 8 drawing.
  • Classic Lotto – This Ohio Lottery draw game's jackpot has climbed to $10.2 million for the Saturday, November 8 drawing.
  • New York LOTTO – This New York Lottery draw game's jackpot has climbed to $8.8 million for the Saturday, November 8 drawing.
  • Megabucks – This Massachusetts Lottery draw game's jackpot has climbed to $7 million for the Saturday, November 8 drawing.

While these jackpots aren't as high as the Mega Millions and Powerball jackpots, the odds of winning one of these state-specific jackpots are much better. Enjoy playing the lottery, and please remember to play responsibly.
