Powerball is back in the billion-dollar jackpot club

Powerball has officially entered billion-dollar territory. After no ticket matched all six winning numbers in Monday night’s drawing, the jackpot has continued climbing and now stands at an estimated $1 billion for Wednesday night. While the grand prize remains up for grabs, several players still walked away from the latest drawing with some impressive prizes.

No jackpot winner again

The anticipation was high. The Powerball jackpot had grown to an estimated $929 million for the Monday, August 10, 2026, drawing. The winning numbers have been drawn, and the climb continues for Powerball players.

The winning white ball numbers for last night’s drawing were 6, 37, 54, 55, and 64, and the Powerball number was 10. The Power Play multiplier was 3.

No tickets matched all of the winning numbers, so the jackpot now climbs to an estimated $1 billion, with an estimated cash value of $422.3 million. The next drawing takes place on Wednesday, August 12, 2026.

New millionaires crowned

While there was no jackpot winner crowned last night, there were some new millionaires created.

Two tickets purchased in California and Maryland matched all five of the winning white balls to win the Match 5 prize. For the Maryland player, that means $1 million.

However, the player in California won $1.48 million. Their payouts are pari-mutuel, which means they are determined by sales and the number of winners.

Meanwhile, a ticket purchased in Tennessee matched all five of the winning white balls and included the Power Play option for an additional $1. Because of that, they increased their winnings to $2 million.

Double Play winners

For anyone who participates in the Double Play drawing, there were also two tickets purchased in Colorado and New Jersey that won $500,000 prizes after matching all five of the winning black balls.

Double Play is a $1 add-on feature that allows players to play their Powerball numbers again. A separate drawing is live-streamed on the Powerball website following the main Powerball drawing.

This separate drawing gives players the chance to win $10 million if matching all of the winning numbers. The winning black ball numbers for last night were 4, 23, 31, 32, and 57, and the Powerball number was 23.

No movement in the top jackpot list

Even with last night’s rollover, this current jackpot run remains the eighth-largest jackpot in Powerball history. However, it is the biggest jackpot offered in 2026.

With an estimated $1 billion up for grabs, it still needs some ground to move up on the all-time list, but it definitely would top the list of jackpot winners in 2026:

1. Jan. 21, 2026 - $209.3 Million – Winning ticket purchased in North Carolina
2. March 2, 2026 - $250.8 Million – Winning ticket purchased in Arkansas
3. April 6, 2026 - $230.8 Million – Winning ticket purchased in Delaware
4. April 29, 2026 - $143 Million – Winning tickets purchased in Indiana, Kansas
5. May 2, 2026 - $20 Million – Winning tickets purchased in Florida, Texas
