Florida Lottery players who like instant results with their draw tickets are getting a long-awaited boost. Starting on January 30, 2026, the Lottery will roll out a newly enhanced EZmatch feature. With these changes, players will see higher payouts, better odds, and more reasons to add the $1 option to Fantasy 5 and Florida Lotto tickets.

These changes are the first major update to EZmatch's prize structure since 2008. For players, this means the add-on looks very different from what it did just a few weeks ago.

What's changing with EZmatch

The Florida Lottery announced these changes to EZmatch would mean payouts would happen more often and at higher levels. The minimum prize has been increased, as well as new prize tiers being added, and the overall payout percentage has jumped significantly.

Here is a breakdown of what EZmatch now offers thanks to these changes:

  • The new minimum prize is $3. The previous minimum prize was $2.
  • There are new $25 and $40 prize tiers, which will create more mid-range wins.
  • Improved odds of winning $5, now 1 in 52.5 instead of 1 in 300.
  • Better odds of winning $100, which improved to 1 in 10,500
  • Overall, there is a prize payout increase from 68.05% to 77.99%.

With these upgrades, the odds and returns are noticeably stronger.

For just $1, players can still instantly win prizes of up to $500 by matching EZmatch numbers to the numbers printed on their ticket — but now the odds and returns are noticeably stronger.

How does EZmatch work?

EZmatch is an optional add-on available to Florida Lottery players when buying Fantasy 5 or Florida Lotto tickets.

When a player adds EZmatch for just $1, additional numbers are printed on the ticket. If those EZmatch numbers match any of your Fantasy 5 or Florida Lotto numbers, the prize is won instantly. There is no waiting for the draw to happen.

This instant-win element has been a huge part of why players find EZmatch appealing. This is especially true for players who want to know right away whether or not they've won something extra.

With bigger minimum prizes and new payout tiers, those instant wins now feel more meaningful.

Why does this update matter?

EZmatch first debuted in 2006. Over the years, it has quietly become one of the Florida Lottery's most popular add-ons. I mean, for $1 more, you can quickly win $500? Count me in!

Across multiple games, including the now-discontinued Lucky Money, EZmatch has generated over 128 million tickets. This includes paying out over $440 million in prizes.

Based on those numbers, that means there are about 18,000 EZmatch winners and almost $62,000 in prizes every day on average.

This new prize structure is designed to build on that success. It encourages new players to try it out and gives longtime EZmatch players better value for their money.

What players need to know

These EZmatch changes officially go live on January 30, 2026. Any tickets purchased before that date will still follow the old prize structure. Tickets purchased on or after January 30 will reflect the new payouts and odds.

This upgrade definitely makes that extra $1 more appealing. With bigger minimum wins, more prize variety, and improved odds, the game's biggest upgrade in years is clearly aimed at one thing: giving Florida Lottery players more value every time they play.

Enjoy playing the Florida Lottery, and please remember to play responsibly.
