Washington Lottery's Hit 5 jackpot has climbed to $1,615,000 — a new record for the game. That's over a million dollars up for grabs in tonight's Hit 5 drawing. If you've been waiting for a reason to play, this might be it.

What is Hit 5?

Hit 5 is a daily draw game run by the Washington Lottery. It launched in 2007 as a replacement for Quinto, a similar draw-five format that debuted in 1990. The game is straightforward. Players pick five numbers between 1 and 42. Or, choose to let the system Quick Pick for them. Match all five to win the jackpot. Tickets cost just $1 per play.

The cashpot starts at $100,000 and grows with every draw that goes unclaimed. Tonight's prize of $1,615,000 is the highest in the game's history. During fiscal year 2025, the record stood at $825,000. In that same year, 43 jackpots were awarded: proof that this game has regular winners.

Most recently, a Spokane player walked away with $1,235,000 after matching all five numbers in the February 26 draw. The winning ticket was purchased at a Fred Meyer store on North Division Street. The retailer earned a $12,350 bonus for selling it.

How to win

Matching all five numbers wins the jackpot. If multiple tickets hit, the prize is split equally among winners.

You don't need to match all five to walk away with something. Match four numbers, and you win $150. Match three, and you pocket $15. Match just two, and you get a free Hit 5 ticket for the next draw. Overall, the odds of winning any prize are 1 in 10.1.

How to play tonight

Ticket sales close at 7:45 p.m. PT. Numbers are drawn at 8 p.m. PT.  Miss tonight's cutoff? You can buy tickets in advance for up to 25 consecutive drawings, so you never have to miss a draw. Players must be 18 or older to participate.
