Lotto America isn't usually the game grabbing headlines, but it's hard to ignore it this time. After over 100 drawings without a jackpot winner, the prize has climbed to an estimated $22.99 million, marking the third-largest jackpot in the game's history. For a $1 ticket that often flies under the radar, this kind of run is rare, and it's quickly turning into one of the most notable streaks the game has seen since its relaunch.

A jackpot run for the record books

The multi-state draw game Lotto America is making waves again with its current jackpot run. Heading into the next draw, which takes place on Saturday, April 25, 2026, the jackpot has reached an estimated $22.99 million.

This happens to be just the fifth time in the game's history that the jackpot has surpassed $20 million. Lotto America relaunched on November 12, 2017.

The $22.99 million estimated jackpot also ranks as the third-largest in the game's history, so this is definitely a record-breaking jackpot run for this multi-state draw game. The cash option value for this jackpot is an estimated $10.49 million.

Over 100 draws later

For that April 25 drawing, it will be the 109th drawing for this current jackpot run.

The last jackpot win took place on August 6, 2025. At that time, one lucky ticketholder in South Carolina won the jackpot, which was an estimated $4.01 million.

Before that, the game saw its second-largest jackpot run take place. On June 7, 2025, one lucky player in Tennessee matched all the winning numbers after over a year without a winner.

The winning red ball numbers for that drawing were 1, 17, 19, 36, and 43, and the Star Ball was 3. The jackpot had climbed to $37.37 million for the lucky player in Tennessee.

Top 5 Lotto America jackpots

Time will tell how big this current Lotto America will get before a winner stakes their claim on it. For now, we can take a look at the five biggest jackpots this multi-state game has had over the years:

  1. $40.03 million – April 1, 2023, winning ticket purchased in Iowa.
  2. $37.37 million – June 7, 2025, winning ticket purchased in Tennessee.
  3. $22.99 million – April 25, 2026, current jackpot run.
  4. $22.82 million – March 14, 2018, winning ticket purchased in Minnesota.
  5. $21.6 million – July 10, 2019, winning ticket purchased in Minnesota.

How does Lotto America work?

Lotto America is a multi-state draw game. It's currently offered in 13 states: Delaware, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Minnesota, Montana, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, and West Virginia.

With ticket prices going up in other games, the cost of a Lotto America ticket remains just $1. Players have the chance to win from nine different prize categories, which include the jackpot that starts at $2 million.

To play this game, players need to pick five numbers from 1 to 52. They will also pick a Star Ball number, which is from 1 to 10. Players can add the All Star Bonus for $1 more, which is a randomly-drawn number that can multiply any non-jackpot winnings by 2, 3, 4, or 5 times.

Drawings for Lotto America take place on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays at 9:20 p.m. ET, and tickets can be purchased up until 9 p.m. ET on drawing days.

Enjoy playing the lottery, and please remember to play responsibly.
