Hold onto your hats, Michigan Lottery players! History was made Wednesday night when a lucky player became the first to snag a Lotto 47 jackpot exceeding a whopping $7 million. And get this – they did it all from the comfort of their couch, thanks to the Lottery's online platform!

The winning ticket, purchased on the Michigan Lottery website, matched all six numbers drawn: 22-24-26-40-41-44. This shatters the previous online record of $5.75 million, which was won twice in early 2021 by Lucky For Life players.

Lottery Commissioner Suzanna Shkreli said:

Congratulations to the lucky Michigan Lottery player who made history last night winning a $7.19 million Lotto 47 jackpot, with a ticket bought online. The Lottery's online game portfolio gives Michiganders the chance to win huge jackpot prizes with tools that promote responsible play while supporting public schools. This is a huge win for the lucky player and the Michigan Lottery's industry-leading online game platform.

This incredible win marks the third Lotto 47 jackpot claimed in 2024. The year kicked off with a $4.37 million jackpot win in January, followed by another lucky winner taking home $1.1 million later that month.

How to play Lotto 47

Lotto 47 jackpots start at $1 million and keep growing until someone scoops the prize. Each play costs just $1, and you choose six numbers between 1 and 47. To multiply your chances of winning, add Double Play for $1 to get a second shot at a prize in the nightly drawing. Feeling lucky? Add EZMatch for another $1 for a chance to win up to $500 instantly.

Lotto 47 drawings are held twice a week, Wednesdays and Saturdays, at 7:29 PM. Tickets can be purchased online until 7:08 PM on drawing days or at any lottery retailer.

Claim your prize: It could be you

If you think you might be the lucky winner, here's what to do: Contact the Michigan Lottery's Player Relations division at 844-917-6325 to schedule an appointment and claim your prize. Remember, Lotto 47 tickets expire one year from the drawing date, so don't delay!

Play online or in-store

The Michigan Lottery offers a variety of games online, from instant win options to life-changing jackpots like Powerball and Mega Millions. With over 200 games to choose from, wagers range from a few cents to $50, making it easy to find the perfect fit for any budget.

Since its launch in 2014, the online platform has amassed over 1 million registered players.

Nearly 97 cents of every dollar spent on Lottery tickets goes back to the state, directly benefiting public schools, players through prizes, and vendors through commissions. In the 2023 fiscal year alone, the Lottery contributed a staggering $1.3 billion to Michigan's public schools, marking the fifth consecutive year exceeding $1 billion!
