One Florida Lotto ticket just turned into $10.75 million

Someone in Florida woke up $10.75 million richer after a single ticket hit the Florida Lotto jackpot Saturday night. The winning ticket matched all six numbers drawn during the September 19, 2026, drawing. The lucky ticket was a Quick Pick purchased in Spring Hill, according to the Florida Lottery. Spring Hill is in Hernando County, along Florida's Gulf Coast.

Now comes the fun part: finding out who bought it. The winner has yet to come forward publicly, meaning players who recently stopped at that Publix may want to give their tickets another look.

Jackpot climbed for more than a month

With the jackpot win on Saturday, it ended a Florida Lotto jackpot run that started back in early August.

The previous jackpot was hit on August 5, when one ticket won $6 million. The jackpot then reset to $1 million for the August 8 drawing and has continued growing as drawing after drawing passed without another jackpot winner.

After climbing to $10.75 million, one ticket finally ended the drought and grabbed the top prize. The winning numbers for Saturday’s drawing were 6, 15, 20, 28, 31, and 32.

The winning ticket was purchased at Publix, located at 4365 Commercial Way in Spring Hill.

How does the Florida Lotto work?

For the Florida Lotto, tickets cost $2 per play. Players choose six numbers from 1 through 53, or they can let the computer generate their numbers with a Quick Pick, which is what this latest jackpot winner did.

Matching all six numbers comes with some steep odds. The odds of winning the Florida Lotto jackpot are 1 in 22.96 million.

However, players don’t have to match all six numbers to win something. Prizes are available for matching three or more numbers. Also, players who match two numbers earn a free ticket.

In addition, players can add the Double Play option for $1. This gives their numbers another chance to win prizes of up to $250,000 in a separate drawing.

The Double Play numbers for Saturday’s drawing were 16, 17, 21, 27, 30, and 36.

What happens if the winner comes forward?

While we wait to find out who the big winner is, they do have some decisions to make and some deadlines to remember.

For draw-game prizes in Florida, they must be claimed within 180 days of the drawing. However, jackpot winners who want the lump-sum payment option and not the annuity option have to claim their prize within 60 days of the drawing.

They also have to get ready to have their name blasted across the media. Florida doesn’t offer permanent anonymity to lottery winners.

Under state law, certain information about winners is considered public record. However, the names of winners claiming prizes of $250,000 or more are temporarily protected from public disclosure for 90 days after the prize is claimed, unless the winner waives that protection.

While someone is figuring out what to do with a $10.75 million jackpot, everyone else is getting a fresh start. The Florida Lotto jackpot resets to $1 million for the next drawing on Wednesday, September 23.
