Lotto America jackpot tops $20M for just fifth time ever

The last win came in early August — now the jackpot is building serious momentum.

Lotto America doesn't often make headlines, but when it does, it usually means something rare is unfolding. This weekend's drawing marks one of those moments, as the jackpot climbs past $20 million for just the fifth time in the game's history, capping off a quietly building run that's now approaching its 100th drawing without a winner. For players, that kind of slow-burn surge is unusual, and it's starting to turn a low-profile game into one worth a closer look.

Jackpot climbs over $20M

Lotto America is making history this weekend. For just the fifth time in the game's history, the jackpot for the Saturday, March 28, 2026, drawing will be over $20 million. To be exact, the estimated jackpot for Saturday's drawing is $20.03 million.

It has been a steady climb for the multi-state draw game. The last jackpot win for Lotto America came on August 6, 2025, when one ticket matched all the winning numbers to win the $3.99 million jackpot.

The winning red ball numbers for that drawing were 26, 29, 30, 33, and 40, and the Star Ball was 1. The All-Star Bonus was 2X.

With that being said, this current jackpot run has made it 99 drawings without a jackpot winner. That means Saturday's drawing will be the 100th during this current jackpot run.

Second-largest jackpot run

This current jackpot run started just weeks after another jackpot run for Lotto America players created the second-largest jackpot win in the game's history.

In June 2025, a lucky player from Tennessee matched all the Lotto America winning numbers drawn for the June 7 drawing to win the $37.37 million jackpot. The winning red balls for that drawing were 1, 17, 19, 36, and 43, and the Star Ball was 3. The All-Star Bonus was 2X.

That jackpot run rolled for more than a year. The previous jackpot win took place in Minnesota, when one player won a $3.11 million jackpot during the April 24, 2024, drawing.

Top 5 Lotto America jackpots

While this current Lotto America is still climbing, we can take a look back at the five biggest jackpots this multi-state game has had over the years:

  1. $40.03 million – April 1, 2023, winning ticket purchased in Iowa.
  2. $37.37 million – June 7, 2025, winning ticket purchased in Tennessee.
  3. $22.82 million – March 14, 2018, winning ticket purchased in Minnesota.
  4. $21.6 million – July 10, 2019, winning ticket purchased in Minnesota.
  5. $20.03 million – March 27, 2026, current jackpot run.

Where is Lotto America played?
