It was a good weekend to have a lottery ticket in your pocket. Four players in four different states scored major prizes, led by an Iowa ticket that won the $6.14 million Lotto America jackpot. Players in Florida, Wisconsin, and Wyoming also had plenty to celebrate after winning big prizes in three other lottery games. Here's a look at where the weekend's luck landed.

$1 ticket wins $6.14 million Lotto America jackpot

The biggest win of the weekend came in Iowa. One lucky Lotto America ticket matched all six of the winning numbers in Saturday night’s drawing to win the $6.14 million jackpot.

The winning numbers were 12, 13, 21, 40, and 49, and the Star Ball number was 2.

The Iowa ticket was the only Lotto America ticket to match all six of the winning numbers. Even better? A Lotto America ticket costs just $1, so they turned that dollar investment into a life-changing win.

With the win, the lucky ticket holder now has a big decision to make. They can choose between receiving the $6.14 million prize through an annuity paid in 30 increasing payments over 29 years or taking a one-time cash payment of $2.53 million. Both of those amounts are before taxes.

This was the third Lotto America jackpot won in Iowa since the game began. Previously, Iowa players won $4.38 million in 2018 and $40.03 million in 2023.

Now, the jackpot resets to $2 million for the next drawing on Monday, October 5, 2026.

Double Play crowns $500K winner in Florida

While there was no jackpot winner in the regular Powerball drawing on Saturday, one Florida player did walk away with a big prize.

One lucky ticket in the Sunshine State won $500,000 in the Powerball Double Play drawing. Double Play gives players another chance to win with the same Powerball numbers after the regular drawing.

The top prize in the separate Double Play drawing is $10 million. However, this lucky ticket holder matched all five of the black balls drawn to win the Match 5 prize of $500K.

The winning Double Play numbers were 1, 7, 26, 37, and 52, and the Powerball number was 1.

Wisconsin player scores big lottery prize

The weekend luck also made its way to Wisconsin, where another lottery ticket delivered a major win.

During the October 2 Mega Millions drawing, a ticket purchased at a Kwik Trip in Menomonee Falls matched all five of the white ball numbers drawn to win $1 million. However, thanks to the built-in 4X Megaplier, the prize quadrupled into a jaw-dropping $4 million.

The winning numbers for the Friday night drawing were 6, 37, 40, 41, and 55, and the Mega Ball number was 10.

There was no jackpot winner, so the estimated jackpot climbed to $345 million for the next drawing on Tuesday, October 6.

Wyoming ticket wins $100,000 a year for life

For one Wyoming player, a weekend lottery win could keep paying for years to come.

A ticket sold in Wyoming won the $100,000-a-year-for-life prize in the Millionaire for Life drawing on Sunday, October 4.

The winning white ball numbers for that drawing were 3, 4, 18, 20, and 40, and the Millionaire Ball was 4.

Unlike a traditional jackpot that comes with one advertised prize amount, Millionaire for Life offers winners the chance at ongoing annual payments. That makes this win in Wyoming very different from the Lotto America jackpot win in Iowa.

Four states, four winning tickets, and four very different prizes made it quite the weekend for lottery players. Now comes the next big question: Who has the winning tickets?

Enjoy playing the lottery, and please remember to play responsibly.
