Cash Pop expands with more daily draws across Michigan

The rapid-fire game keeps evolving, signaling a bigger shift toward faster, on-demand lottery play.

The Michigan Lottery announced they are speeding things up again. Cash Pop launched as one of the fastest-paced draw games in the state. Now, it's already getting an update. Lottery officials announced that more drawings will be taking place during the daily schedule. This gives players more chances to play throughout the day. While it just seems like a minor tweak on the surface, it does point to a bigger shift in how lottery games are changing.

Cash Pop is getting even faster

Cash Pop was designed to feel different from traditional draw games. This draw game allows players to quickly get results. They don't have to wait around for hours or even days to see if they won.

Cash Pop players just have to wait minutes. Currently, the game offers drawings about every 14 minutes. That makes it one of the state's most frequent draw games available.

Starting April 12, 2026, the Michigan Lottery started having eight Cash Pop draws per hour. This is up from only four draws per hour previously. This means more opportunities to play, but also more opportunities to win.

What does this mean for players?

More drawings, in general, sound like a win to me. When more drawings are offered, that means players have more chances to win. However, it can also change how people play.

Instead of buying a ticket and then waiting for a nightly drawing to take place, Cash Pop lets players take part in a near-constant cycle. You didn't win on your ticket? No need to worry, you just have to buy another ticket, wait a few minutes, and you can have another opportunity to win.

For some players, the appeal of Cash Pop is the quick results and quick excitement. For others, some worry that this convenience could also turn into overexposure.

Most state lotteries are dealing with this issue. They are trying to balance the convenience and accessibility side of things with responsible play.

Cash Pop in other states

Michigan isn't the only state offering Cash Pop. It is, however, one of the most aggressive when it comes to frequency.

In Georgia, Cash Pop drawings are held every 15 minutes during set hours of the day. They don't run non-stop. Other states, like Pennsylvania and Virginia, offer versions with frequent drawings. However, many states do limit the number of daily draws or hold them during specific time frames during the day.

This is where Michigan stands out. As they keep expanding the drawing schedule, it does seem like Cash Pop might be headed to an always-available experience for lottery players.

Where are lotteries headed?

Again, this change is minor. However, it does reflect where the lottery industry is headed.

More and more state lotteries are trying to introduce more digital games. They want faster, more frequent drawings. They want to keep players engaged without having to wait long periods of time between drawings or buying online digital instant tickets.

Cash Pop clearly fits right into this train of thought. The only real question is if lotteries will just keep speeding up the game.
