The Pennsylvania Lottery just added something new to its lineup. CASH POP hit retailers on November 18, 2025, bringing four daily drawings and a simplified format that strips away the complexity of traditional lottery games.

Pick a number between 1 and 15. That's it. The Lottery draws one winning number four times each day, and if yours matches, you win. No multi-number combinations to track. No waiting days for results.

What makes CASH POP different

Most lottery games force you to juggle multiple numbers and wait for specific drawing times. CASH POP operates differently. You select one or more "POP" numbers from 1 to 15. The Lottery draws a single winning number. Match it, win instantly.

Want better odds? Buy more POP numbers. Select all 15 and you're guaranteed a winner every time. The catch? Your overall cost increases with each additional POP purchased.

How much does it cost?

Players choose their risk level: $1, $2, $5, $10, or $20 per POP number. Each POP plays separately. Higher play amounts unlock bigger prizes, ranging from 5X to 250X your wager.

The prize structure works like this: a $1 play can win between $5 and $250. Scale up to $20, and the range jumps to $100-$5,000. Your specific prize appears randomly under each POP number when you purchase your ticket.

Four chances daily

CASH POP drawings happen at:

  • Morning Buzz: 9:00 a.m.
  • Lunch Break: 1:35 p.m.
  • Prime Time: 6:59 p.m.
  • Night Owl: 11:00 p.m.

The drawings run through the Lottery Central Computer System. You won't see them broadcast on TV. Instead, animated depictions play on retailer Point-of-Sale screens, and winning numbers post immediately to the Pennsylvania Lottery website. Sales close two seconds before each draw time.

What are your actual chances?

Select one POP number, and your odds sit at 1 in 15. Add more numbers, and your chances improve proportionally. Select all 15, and you're guaranteed to win something.

But what you win varies wildly. A $1 ticket with one POP number has a 1 in 2.07 chance of receiving a $5 prize underneath that number. The $250 top prize? That probability is 1 in 1,000.

What about mistakes?

CASH POP tickets can't be cancelled once printed. Double-check your selections before the clerk processes your purchase.

Winners have one year from the drawing date to claim prizes.

Should you play all 15 numbers?

Guaranteed wins sound appealing, but consider the math. Playing all 15 POP numbers at $1 each costs $15. You're guaranteed to win, but most prizes cluster at the low end. The most probable outcome? A $5 prize, giving you a $10 net loss.

Get ready to POP

CASH POP simplifies lottery play to its core: pick numbers, match the draw, win prizes. Four daily drawings mean you never wait long for results. The game prioritizes frequency and accessibility over jackpot dreams. Whether that appeals depends on what you want from lottery play.

Want to play outside of Pennsylvania? Sixteen states now offer CASH POP, including neighboring New Jersey and Maryland, though tickets purchased in one state can only be played and claimed in that state.
