Unclaimed lottery tickets about to expire

Check your lottery tickets to see if you’re a winner before it’s too late.

You may be surprised to learn that millions of dollars worth of lottery ticket prizes go unclaimed every year. In 2022, $1.5 million in prizes from games like Powerball and Mega Millions went unclaimed in Iowa alone. Although many of the prizes are small, some are high-dollar prizes. Check your lottery tickets because here is a look at some of the unclaimed prizes that are about to expire.

Louisiana

In the Pelican State, a Match 4 plus Powerball (with Power Play) has still not been claimed. The ticket was for the August 14, 2023, drawing. The winning ticket is worth $100,000. It was purchased from Murphy Express #8510, located at 32336 La Hwy 16, Denham Springs. The winning numbers for that game were 32, 34, 37, 39, 47, and Powerball number 3. The winner has until December 2, 2023, to claim their prize.

Missouri

Somewhere in Missouri lies a winning Powerball ticket worth $50,000. The ticket was for the June 24, 2023, drawing. It was purchased from Schnucks Market, located at 7355 Manchester Road, Maplewood. The winning numbers were 2, 38, 44, 50, 62, and Powerball number 19. The winner has until December 21, 2023, to claim their prize.

There’s another unclaimed ticket hidden in the Show Me state. This Powerball ticket is also worth $50,000. The ticket was for the drawing on July 3, 2023. It was purchased from Casey's General Store, located at 121 E. Eastwood St., Marshall. The winning numbers were 15, 26, 31, 38, 61, and Powerball number 3. The winner has until December 30, 2023, to claim their prize.

Florida

A winning Florida Lotto ticket for the June 14, 2023, drawing remains unclaimed. The ticket is worth the jackpot prize of $44 million. The ticket was purchased from Sunoco Express, located at 2655 North Orange Blossom Trail in Kissimmee. The winning numbers were 09, 13, 15, 46, 51, and 52. The lucky ticket holder has until December 11, 2023, to claim the prize.

Pennsylvania

A Powerball ticket for the December 17, 2022, drawing went on sale in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. The unclaimed ticket was purchased at Cash Market on Fourth Avenue in Coraopolis and is worth $100,000. The ticket matched four of the five white balls drawn - 33, 56, 64, 66, 68 – and Powerball number 5. The ticket buyer paid an extra $1 for the Power Play option, which doubled the prize from $50,000 to $100,000. The prize must be claimed by December 17, 2023.

Iowa

A Powerball prize of $50,000 remains unclaimed in Iowa, this time in Adel. The ticket was for the October 2, 2023, drawing and was purchased from Kum & Go #2093, located at 409 Nile Kinnick Drive South. The winning numbers were 12, 26, 27, 43, 47, and Powerball number 5. The winner has until March 1, 2024, to claim the prize.

Another Powerball prize of $2 million is waiting to be claimed in Iowa. The ticket for the July 10, 2023, drawing was purchased from Casey's, #2667, located at 403 Stephens Street, Tiffin. The winning numbers were 2, 24, 34, 53, 58, and Powerball number 13. The winner has until April 4, 2024, to claim the prize.

Any prizes that remain unclaimed after the final deadline are returned to the state's lottery fund.
