A suspected robber in Tennessee decided to go right to the source — the cash register — when robbing a gas station this past weekend!

Rocks, tickets, and cash

Police in Memphis announced they are looking for a suspect who allegedly stole lottery tickets and a cash register from a northeast Memphis gas station.

Around 6:15 a.m. CT on August 25, officers responded to a burglary at Mobile One, located at 6133 Macon Cove in Memphis.

According to police, the suspect reportedly approached the front door of the gas station and threw rocks at the window until it broke.

Once the window was broken, the suspect crawled into the gas station and started taking racks of scratch-off lottery tickets along with taking the whole cash register. After grabbing the stash, the suspect then fled on foot, police said.

Be on the lookout

The suspect was able to successfully flee the scene without getting caught. Police in Memphis say no arrests have been made yet, but the investigation is ongoing.

What a weekend!

While it wasn't a great weekend for the owners of the Mobile One gas station in Memphis, it was a good weekend for some Tennessee Lottery players.

While the drawings over the weekend did create thousands of winners in the Tennessee Lottery, a couple of them stood out over the rest.

Up first, a Mega Millions winner, who happened to win $3 million playing the draw game on Friday, August 23. The lucky player purchased their winning ticket at Circle K, located at 2493 S. Church Street in Murfreesboro.

The winning white ball numbers for that drawing were 28, 30, 44, 66, and 69, and the Mega Ball was 2. This lucky ticket holder happened to match all five of the white ball numbers, but missed out on the big jackpot when not matching the Mega Ball number. Still they hit the second-tier prize of $1 million.

However, the lucky winner did add the Megaplier option, which brought their $1 million win up to a $3 million win!

Not quite a $3 million win here, but another Tennessee Lottery player won a nice jackpot over the weekend also. This lucky player is from Cookeville, and they matched all the numbers in the Daily Tennessee Jackpot game for the Friday, August 23, drawing.

The numbers for that drawing were 10, 13, 19, 23, and 35. By matching all five of the winning numbers, the lucky player won the jackpot of $210,000.

The winning ticket was purchased at Colonial Foodmart, located at 2202 Burgess Falls Road in Cookeville.

Until the players actually claim their winnings, the Lottery can give out no more additional information.
