There is a new millionaire in Maryland, as one lucky player scored a $1.8 million jackpot win playing the Multi-Match draw game on Monday, October 28!

The first jackpot win since August

Besides becoming a millionaire, this new lucky winner is also the first winner since the jackpot last hit on August 1, 2024.

The winning numbers for last night's Multi-Match drawing were 6, 12, 14, 30, 37, and 42. The winning ticket, which was purchased at Chesapeake Market, located at 12300 Annapolis Road in Glenn Dale, matched all six of the winning numbers to win the estimated jackpot of $1.8 million. For selling the winning ticket, the lucky lottery retailer will get a bonus from the state lottery for $1,800.

Big decisions to make now

While the winner will have 182 days after the date of the drawing to claim their prize, they will have to make a big decision when they do come forward to claim their money.

The Multi-Match winner can choose between the annuity option, which is paid out in 25 equal installments totaling $1.8 million, or they can get a one-time lump sum cash payment of an estimated $1.08 million before taxes. Which option would you choose?

If you happen to be holding onto this winning ticket, lottery officials encourage you to sign the back of the ticket and keep it in a safe spot until you come forward to claim it.

To claim this prize, since it is larger than $25,000, players must either do so by mail or at lottery headquarters in the Montgomery Park Business Center, located at 1800 Washington Blvd., Suite 330 in Baltimore. There are no walk-ins allowed, so make sure to schedule an appointment before trying to make your claim.

The winning continues in 2024

While this was the first jackpot win for the Multi-Match draw game since August 1, it wasn't the second win of the year. For 2024, the draw game has had eight jackpot winners:

  • $2.1 million won on March 25 – The winning ticket was purchased at Klein's ShopRite in Belcamp
  • $660,000 won on April 29 – The winning ticket was purchased at Paul Mini Mart in Baltimore
  • $580,000 won on May 30 – The winning ticket was purchased at Wawa in Adelphi
  • $500,000 won on June 3 – The winning ticket was purchased at Royal Farms in Glen Burnie
  • $540,000 won on June 20 – The winning ticket was purchased at Four Corners Exxon in Mt. Airy
  • $560,000 won on July 15 – The winning ticket was purchased at Sheetz in Cumberland
  • $540,000 won on August 1 – The winning ticket was purchased at Sunoco in Eldersburg

Largest Multi-Match jackpot ever

The largest jackpot in the game's history dates back to 2022, as one lucky winner took home the historic $5.1 million Multi-Match jackpot.

The winning ticket was purchased at Hampstead Liquors in Carroll County for the Monday, May 9, 2022, drawing. The winning numbers for that night's drawing were 6, 10, 12, 22, 28, and 38. For selling the winning ticket, the lucky lottery retailer received a $5,100 bonus from the state lottery.

At the time, the winner had to choose between receiving the estimated annuity of $5.1 million paid in 25 equal installments or taking the lump sum cash option of $3.75 million before taxes.
