A lucky Richmond lottery player took home $500,000 after playing a $20 Wild Numbers 100X instant-win ticket. He purchased the ticket from Gasoline Alley, located at 661 North Loudoun Street, Winchester. The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, has won $1,000 playing this particular instant-win ticket several times, but this time, he struck the jackpot.

In an interview with the Kentucky Lottery, he said, “It’s amazing…life-changing money,” he said. “I kept telling my wife, ‘One of these days, I’m going to hit the big one!”

He said that playing the lottery is part of his weekend routine. He was reeling with excitement when he scratched off his winning ticket in the store.

“I scratched the next number, and it was five times $10,000,” he said. “I knew immediately that the next prize up is the top prize. I was like, ‘Oh my God!’ And the girl behind the counter said, ‘What’s wrong?’ And, I said, ‘I just hit $500,000!’”

He ran from the store to break the wonderful news to his family. When he got home, he gathered them in the kitchen to share the news.

“I have something to talk to you all about,” he told his family. “I was really serious. I said, ‘Do you remember a year ago or so that I hit $10,000 twice? Well, I just hit $500,000!’ It was pretty amazing.”

The Kentucky lottery player celebrated his success by wearing his winning ticket around the house, taped to his shirt before traveling to the lottery headquarters the next day to collect his winnings. He took home a check for $357,500 after taxes. The winner plans to share his prize with his children and relatives to help them pay for educational and medical expenses.

How to play Wild Numbers 100X

This is a $20 instant-win ticket with a top prize of $500,000. You can win up to 100X your prize. To play, scratch off the eight gold swirl symbols to reveal the winning numbers. Then scratch off the 20 dollar symbols to reveal your numbers. If any of your numbers match the winning numbers, you win the amount shown by that number. If you reveal a 5X, 10X, 20X, 50X, or 100X symbol, multiply your win by that amount.
