Get ready for a fresh twist in lottery gaming with the Delaware State Lottery's latest addition: Play 5.

This daily numbers game lets you pick a five-digit number and choose how much to bet. You can play your number during the day, at night, or both. Plus, you have the option to play up to seven drawings in advance.

The minimum bet is just 50 cents. You can either box your number or play it straight.

Drawings occur daily: Day drawings at 1:58 p.m. (you must play by 1:40 p.m. ET) and Night drawings at 7:57 p.m. (you must play by 7:30 p.m. ET).

Play 5: How to play

To get started, fill out a playslip:

  1. Mark your drawing time: Choose Day, Night, or Both. Use blue or black ink or a pencil.
  2. Select the number of drawings: Enter up to seven. Leave blank for today's drawing only.
  3. Choose future drawings: Mark one or more days up to a week ahead.
  4. Play up to five games: For each game, mark four numbers (0 to 9) in separate columns.

Did you make a mistake? Check the VOID box and use the next game panel; don't erase.

For a quick pick, select the Quick Pick box.

Decide your bet amount: 50 cents or $1. Then, choose your bet type:

  • Straight: Match the five-digit number exactly.
  • Box: Match the number in any order.
  • Front 4: Match the first four digits exactly.
  • Back 4: Match the last four digits exactly.
  • Front 3: Match the first three digits exactly.
  • Back 3: Match the last three digits exactly.
  • Front Pair: Match the first two digits exactly.
  • Back Pair: Match the last two digits exactly.

Once your playslip is complete, submit it to a retailer. Hold on to your ticket; you'll need it to claim any winnings. Always check your ticket before leaving the retailer.

A winning tradition

The Delaware State Lottery started in 1975, reviving a tradition that had been absent for over a century. The Lottery's first game, LOTTO Superfecta, was based on live horse races. The introduction of computer-based lottery systems in 1977 marked a major advancement. Subsequent innovations included the launch of Powerball in 1991, Video Lottery games in 1995, and online gaming in 2013.

In recent years, the Lottery has continued to evolve with new games and expanded options, including the introduction of Lucky for Life and enhancements to existing games. The Lottery remains a key player in Delaware's revenue system and continues to offer exciting opportunities for players.

Whether you're a seasoned player or new to the scene, Play 5 adds a fresh and flexible way to try your luck.
