The newest lottery sensation sweeping across the nation has landed in North Carolina, bringing players five daily shots at turning a few dollars into $2,500.

This fast-paced lottery game joins 14 other states offering Cash POP, bringing a simple yet engaging way to play and win. Players pick numbers between 1 and 15, with each selection offering a 1-in-15 chance of winning.

How to play Cash POP

Getting started with Cash POP is straightforward and puts you in control of your game experience.

Begin by selecting any number between 1 and 15 – these are your POPs. You can choose your own lucky numbers or let the Quick Pick feature choose for you. Then, decide how much to wager on each POP, with options ranging from $1 to $10. The higher your wager, the bigger your potential prize. You can play for a single draw or select multiple consecutive draws throughout the day. Your ticket will display your potential winnings for each number you play, so you'll know exactly what prize to watch for when the numbers are drawn.

Five daily chances to win

Cash POP runs five draws throughout the day.

  • Morning Buzz at 9:00 a.m.
  • Lunch Rush at 1:00 p.m.
  • Clock Out Cash at 5:00 p.m.
  • Primetime POP at 8:00 p.m.
  • Midnight Money at 11:59 p.m.

All drawing times are in ET. Sales for each draw end 15 seconds before draw time, so plan your plays accordingly.

Prizes and odds

Each number played offers a 1-in-15 chance of winning. Prizes range from 5 to 250 times your bet amount. The maximum prize of $2,500 requires a $10 bet per number.

Want better odds? Play multiple numbers. Choose all 15 numbers to guarantee a prize. Your chances of hitting the top prize of $2,500 are 1 in 15,000, but the game offers nine different prize levels for each wager amount you choose.

Claiming your prize

For winners, the claiming process varies by prize amount:

  • Under $600: Claim at any lottery retailer
  • $600 or more: Visit a claim center with ID and social security card
  • Online players: Prizes under $600 are automatically deposited to your account

Draw game prizes must be claimed within 180 days of the drawing date.

Cash POP's frequent draws and flexible betting options offer North Carolina players a new way to experience lottery excitement throughout the day. Louisiana, California, and Texas are expected to launch the game soon.
