Throughout November, Mississippi Lottery players can triple their wins on the popular jackpot game, Cash 3. The automatic prize boost is part of a month-long promotion celebrating the sixth year of the Mississippi Lottery.

Latest update:

The promotion was supposed to run through the end of November, but in just 10 days, it ran out of funds due to high demand. Mississippi Lottery President Jeff Hewitt stated:

The enthusiasm for this promotion has been incredible. Our players really embraced the opportunity to triple their Cash 3 prizes, and participation exceeded expectations. We appreciate everyone who took part in celebrating our sixth anniversary in such a big way.

Three times the prize

Typically, Cash 3 players can win up to the top prize of $500 or more by playing an additional draw called Fireball. This means that, in November, players could win $1,500 or more.

The odds of winning the top prize are 1 in 1,000, while the odds of winning any prize are 1 in 167. The lowest possible prize is $40, which will translate to $120 during the promotion.

To play Cash 3, players must choose three numbers from 0 to 9, making either a 50¢ or $1 wager. They can choose the options “Exact Order,” “Any Order,” "Exact/Any Order," or “Combo,” which come with different odds and prize amounts.

Drawings take place twice a day, 2:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Central Standard Time. A Fireball drawing takes place at the same time, costing an additional $1 and offering players the chance to replace any of the drawn numbers with the new Fireball number.

No matter which type of gameplay is chosen, the promotion will triple the prize throughout the month. There is no extra selection or payment required to participate in the promotion, even if players use the Quick Pick option or Multi-Draws, which allow players to purchase their numbers in advance.

Celebrating six years

The Mississippi Lottery has been operational since November 25, 2019. The revenue has benefited infrastructure in Mississippi, including roads, bridges, and education in the state. Mississippi Lottery President Jeff Hewitt stated:

We like to mark our anniversary with special games and promotions for the players. Cash 3 is a daily fan favorite, and this promotion gives players three times the reason to celebrate all month long.

Prior to the launch, Mississippi was one of a handful of states with an all-out ban on lotteries. As of the end of fiscal year 2025, since its inception, the lottery raised $470.7 million for roads and $221 million for education.

Claiming prizes

Winners have 180 days to claim their prizes.

If a Cash 3 winner gets under $600, they can claim their prize at any Mississippi Lottery Corporation retailer. Cash 3 winners over $600 must go to the Mississippi Lottery Headquarters in Flowood, or submit their original winning ticket by mail along with a claim form and identification.

Watch out for scams

Cash 3 tickets are only available through authorized retailers. They are not available online through a state-run iLottery site or through lottery couriers. Mississippi has no lottery apps, period.

In September, the Mississippi Lottery issued a warning to players about a social media scam claiming that Mississippi players can download an app and play online. Don't fall for it. To participate in the promotion, go to a brick-and-mortar lottery retail outlet.
