Mississippi Lottery pulls new scratch-off over printing problem

Players can still redeem valid wins, while officials gear up to launch a replacement game soon.

Mississippi's newest lottery game was supposed to bring a rush of excitement, with players eager to scratch their way to a quick win. But just as the $10 “$2,000 Loaded” ticket was hitting shelves, the game came to an abrupt halt.

A printing issue forced officials to pull it back almost as quickly as it appeared, putting a sudden twist on the launch. For players already holding tickets, though, the story isn't over — some prizes are still in play, and the lottery is already looking ahead to what comes next.

Printing issue causes ticket recall

The Mississippi Lottery Corporation has announced that they have had to recall one of its recently released instant tickets. One of the lottery's new scratch-off tickets, the $10 game “$2,000 Loaded,” has been pulled from the shelves at lottery retailers due to a ticket printing issue.

Lottery officials said this printing glitch was identified shortly after the game launched. Officials said pulling the tickets ensures that Mississippi Lottery game tickets meet the lottery's strict standards for accuracy, security, and playability.

What happens to the tickets already sold?

Since the game was launched and tickets have already been sold, players out there may already be holding onto winning tickets. If that's the case, don't worry, you can still collect your money. Lottery officials said any player who purchased the “$2,000 Loaded” scratch-off ticket and has a winning ticket can collect the winning ticket's validly won prize at any lottery retailer or lottery headquarters.

Officials said any purported prizes that resulted from ticket symbols printed in error are void. Replacement game details will be announced by the lottery in the near future.

No issues with this $10 ticket

While the “$2,000 Loaded” ticket had some printing issues for the Mississippi Lottery, there definitely were no issues when printing the $10 “Diamond White” scratch-off, and a Southaven man is happy to hear that.

Lottery officials recently announced that a Southaven man won the top prize of $200,000 on the “Diamond White” instant ticket game. The lucky winner purchased the ticket at Tobacco Warehouse 19 located in Southaven.

Other big wins in Mississippi

While the focus has been on the scratch-off tickets, lottery players in Mississippi have also been enjoying some big wins playing Mega Millions and Powerball.

Last week, lightning struck twice for Mississippi players. On Tuesday, August 26, 2025, one lucky player matched all the winning white ball numbers drawn for the Mega Millions game but missed out on the Mega Ball. Their multiplier was 2X, so their $1 million prize doubled to $2 million.

Then on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, one lucky player in Mississippi matched all the winning white ball numbers drawn for the Powerball game. They missed out on the Powerball number and won $1 million.

However, they included the Power Play option for their ticket for $1 more and doubled their winnings to $2 million. That means Mississippi Lottery players saw back-to-back nights of $2 million wins.

Enjoy playing the Mississippi Lottery, and please remember to play responsibly.
