Iowa State Fair is not only the largest event in the Hawkeye State and one of the oldest and largest agricultural expos in the U.S., but it also holds international acclaim.

This annual event will take place August 8-18, 2024. This year, the State Fair has teamed up with the Iowa Lottery to launch a new scratch-off game and promotion that gives players a chance to win prizes up to $5 million. Not only that, tickets to some of the most valued live performances are also being given away.

Tickets for the new game arrived in stores on April 16 and should be available throughout the state by Friday, April 19. The tickets are easy to recognize because they depict iconic Iowa State Fair images such as livestock, a food stick, and a giant Ferris wheel designed to celebrate the theme of this year's fair – Fair Fever.

In a recent press release, Iowa Lottery CEO Matt Strawn said:

Nothing compares to the Iowa State Fair. We are proud to bring together these two great brands to celebrate the best of summer in Iowa.

Fair Fever promotion

The promotion includes a live lottery game show that will be held on the opening day of the Iowa State Fair. During the show, 20 pre-selected contestants will compete for $1 million in guaranteed prizes. The contestant who makes it to the end of the show will have a chance to win a prize between $500,000 and $5 million.

If you want to enter the Fair Fever promotion, you must be a member of the Iowa Lottery's free VIP Club. So, if you're not already, it's time to register. The promotion period is open now until 9:59 a.m. on July 16. The promotion will have two drawing dates to choose contestants for the live game show. Winners will also be chosen to receive concert ticket prize packages for performances at the Iowa State Fair Grandstand.

The following Grandstand concert tickets are included in the prize packages for the drawing on June 6:

  • Lauren Daigle with special guest Blessing Offor: Performance on Thursday, August 8
  • Foreigner Historic Farewell Tour with special guest Melissa Etheridge: Performance on Friday, August 9
  • Jelly Roll with special guest DAX: Performance on Saturday, August 10
  • Greta Van Fleet Starcatcher World Tour with special guest The Beaches: Performance on Sunday, August 11

The second drawing will be held on July 18. The gameshow contestants will be chosen along with the winners of these Grandstand concert tickets:

  • Brett Young with special guest Needtobreathe: Performance on Monday, August 12
  • Thomas Rhett: Performance on Tuesday, August 13
  • Mötley Crüe with special guest Pop Evil: Performance on Wednesday, August 14
  • The Avett Brothers with G. Love & Special Sauce: Friday, August 16
  • Ne-Yo with special guest Eric Bellinger: Performance on Saturday, August 17

Ticket winners will be able to choose from four available ticket-level options. These include the pit standing area, club seats, Grandstand seats, and the VIP spectator deck. Winners can also choose the concert they would prefer to attend. As well as two tickets to the show, the prize package also includes admission to the Iowa State Fair, parking, and $100 spending money from the Iowa Lottery. To participate, you must enter your non-winning Iowa State Fair instant-win ticket number.
