The Hoosier Lottery in Indiana has launched its Grand Slam VIP Baseball Experience promotion, offering one player and three guests a trip to see the Pittsburgh Pirates play the Boston Red Sox at PNC Park. It's one of a few promotions across the country offering tie-ins with the Major League Baseball season.

Huge grand prize

The Hoosier Lottery grand prize is a big one. It includes four game tickets, a parking pass, a pregame VIP experience, two nights of hotel accommodations, and a $500 Hoosier Lottery prize pack. The winner will also receive an autographed jersey from Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes.

In addition, 10 secondary winners will each receive a $100 Fanatics gift card, hats representing Indiana's six minor league baseball teams, and a prize pack.

How to enter

The promotion is open to members of the lottery’s free myLOTTERY loyalty program, with entries accepted through June 16. Participants can enter by logging into their accounts online.

The campaign also includes an in-person component. From April 10–12, the Hoosier Lottery will participate in Prospects Weekend at Victory Field, where the Indianapolis Indians will host a series of events.

Activities include a fireworks show, a bobblehead giveaway for the first 1,500 fans age 18 and older, and a trading card experience. The lottery will also operate an on-site trailer where visitors can purchase games and spin a prize wheel after qualifying purchases.

Where the money goes

Hoosier Lottery proceeds continue to support public programs across the state. Over more than 35 years, the Hoosier Lottery has contributed $8.1 billion to good causes in Indiana, including $30 million annually for police and firefighters' pensions and $30 million each year for the Teachers' Retirement Fund.

More baseball promotions

Last year's Hoosier Grand Slam Giveaway drew more than 15,000 entries, according to the lottery. But Indiana isn't the only state riding baseball fever.

  • The Maryland Lottery is offering its annual second-chance baseball promotion called Contestant of The Game. Players who enter winning or non-winning $5 Home Run Riches Walk-Off Winnings tickets into the state's My Lottery Rewards app will automatically be entered for a chance to win tickets to one of the Baltimore Orioles season games this year, as well as $500. There are 162 games, and 162 potential winners.

New this year, the VIP experience will be available for even luckier winners. They'll get premium access to the games as well as $2,000 and other prizes.

  • The New York Lottery program, NYL+ or Collect 'N Win, second chance programs allow lottery players to enter non-winning scratch-off tickets for a chance to win prizes, including baseball tickets when promotions are live.

As the baseball season heats up, check your state lottery site for promotions and special raffles.
