The Louisiana Lottery is marking a major milestone with a celebration that blends nostalgia, new games, and extra chances to win. As the lottery turns 35, officials are rolling out a year-long celebration with a new lineup of scratch-off tickets, Fast Play games, and in-store promotions designed to highlight its impact on players.

Celebrating 35 years

The Louisiana Lottery Corporation will be celebrating 35 Years of Reasons to Smile with a special year-long celebration. During the celebration, lottery officials announced they would be introducing new scratch-off tickets, new Fast Play games, a new second-chance promotion, and in-store events taking place at participating lottery retailers statewide.

In 1991, the Louisiana Lottery launched. Since then, it has generated over $14.2 billion in total revenue. They have transferred over $5 billion to the state treasury for the Minimum Foundation Program (MFP), which funds K-12 public education. This celebration of 35 years reflects both that legacy and the lottery's continued commitment to its players and the state.

Louisiana Lottery Corporation President Rose Hudson stated:

Thirty-five years is a milestone worth celebrating, and we wanted to do it in a way that truly honors Louisiana — its culture, its flavors, its spirit, and the players who have been with us from the very beginning. From throwback games to brand-new scratch-offs designed right here in-house, everything about this celebration is a love letter to Louisiana.

New games coming to Louisiana

With this celebration comes new games! To start, the Louisiana Lottery is introducing five new anniversary-themed scratch-off tickets. Those tickets are:

  • Louisiana Treasures – This $1 ticket was the very first game in Louisiana Lottery history. Players can win up to $3,500.
  • Say It Louisiana – This $2 ticket celebrates the colorful, one-of-a-kind expressions that are uniquely Louisiana. This ticket design was from a statewide employee challenge, and the top prize is $12,000.
  • Taste of LA – This $3 ticket was designed in-house and meant to capture the state's legendary culinary heritage, including gumbo and jambalaya, beignets and crawfish. The top prize is $35,000.
  • Play OH! – Longtime players of the Louisiana Lottery will remember this jingle from 1991. This $5 ticket is making its return for the 35th celebration. The top prize for this game is $135,000.
  • It's a Louisiana Thing! – This is a new $10 ticket being added to the lineup. The ticket celebrates the streetcars, brown pelicans, bayous, blue crabs, and zydeco that make Louisiana unlike anywhere else. The top prize for this game is $235,000.

All five of these tickets are now available at lottery retailers.

In addition to these scratch-off tickets, the Louisiana Lottery announced the debut of two 35th anniversary edition Fast Play games. The new games will be Louisiana Treasures ($1 per play) and It's a Louisiana Thing! ($10 per play). These new Fast Play games will debut on April 26.

New second-chance promotions

For those players who have non-winning 35th Anniversary scratch-off tickets, the lottery is encouraging you to save them. You can start entering those non-winning tickets into the 35th Anniversary Second-Chance Promotion.

This promotion opens on April 27, 2026. Starting on that date, players may enter a minimum of $10 worth of eligible 35th Anniversary-branded scratch-off tickets (any of the scratch-off tickets mentioned above). The special anniversary Fast Play games are also eligible for entry.

Special in-store events

The new games and tickets aren't the only way to celebrate 35 years of the Louisiana Lottery. Officials will be bringing the anniversary to life where players shop.

These in-store promotions will take place at participating retail locations. Those details can be found on the Louisiana Lottery website.

Enjoy playing the Louisiana Lottery, and please remember to play responsibly.
