Playing the lottery together makes winning together even more fun!

Some neighborly fun

A group of neighbors in Michigan have been playing the lottery together for five years. Patience paid off the eight-person David K lottery club from Waterford, as they recently won a $110,000 Fantasy 5 jackpot from the Michigan Lottery!

The lucky winners matched the Fantasy 5 numbers in the April 15 drawing to win the jackpot. The numbers for that April 15 draw were 10, 16, 18, 25, and 39. The group bought the winning ticket at the Marathon gas station, located at 6800 Highland Road in Waterford.

The club's representative told Michigan Lottery officials:

We are all neighbors and have been playing the lottery together for five years. We have a lottery club group chat, so every time I buy our tickets, I send a photo of the tickets in the group chat and keep everyone informed.

The group chat was going wild

After that April 15 drawing took place, the group chat started blowing up after the group won the $110,000 jackpot.

I checked the Fantasy 5 ticket by scanning it on the Lottery app early one morning, and when $110,000 came up on the screen with confetti, it sure woke me right up! I took a screenshot and sent it in our group chat. Within minutes, my phone was going crazy with everyone responding saying they didn't believe me.

While it is always fun and exciting to win any lotto jackpot, it has to be more fun winning it with the group you've been buying tickets with for five years.

The club's representative told officials:

Playing together as a club has been a lot of fun, and winning together is even better!

Claiming their prize

The David K lottery club made it official and recently visited the Michigan Lottery Headquarters to claim their jackpot prize. Each member of the group received about $13,750 before tax withholdings.

With this increase in their bank accounts, the club members said they plan on using their winnings to complete home improvement projects, pay some bills, build a pole barn, and take a vacation.

Fantasy 5 - a quick overview

Fantasy 5 is a daily draw game from the Michigan Lottery with drawings taking place at 7:29 p.m. ET. Tickets can be purchased at any lottery retailer or online at the Michigan Lottery website up until 7:08 p.m. on the day of the drawing.

Each play costs $1, and for an additional $1 per play, you can add the EZ Match option, which gives players the chance to win up to $500 instantly. Players can also add the Double Play option for an additional $1 per play. This gives players a second chance to win up to $110,000 in the nightly Double Play drawing. Fantasy 5 players are eligible to win prizes in the regular nightly drawing, the Double Play drawing, or both.

To play, you select five numbers from 1 to 39. There are four prize categories, ranging from $1 for matching two numbers up to the jackpot, which starts at $100,000 for matching all five numbers.

Enjoy playing the Michigan Lottery, and please remember to play responsibly.
