Hold onto your hats, Pennsylvania! Another lucky lottery player just joined the Mega Millions millionaire club.

A ticket sold at Pantry 1 Food Mart in Crum Lynne, Delaware County, matched all five white balls from the Tuesday, September 24, 2024, drawing, winning $1 million (minus taxes, of course).

The winning numbers were 1-6-10-23-27, and while the yellow Mega Ball (18) wasn't a match, it was enough to turn someone's day into a life-changing event. Pantry 1 Food Mart also gets a slice of the pie, receiving a $5,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

This wasn't the only big win in Pennsylvania this week.

In addition to the Mega Millions jackpot, a jackpot-winning Pennsylvania Lottery Cash 5 with Quick Cash ticket sold for the Tuesday, September 24 drawing matched all five balls drawn, 7-8-24-32-41, to win more than $1.5 million less withholding. Reen's Delicatessen, 12319 Academy Road, Philadelphia, will earn a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

Check your tickets!

Remember, winners aren't officially confirmed until they claim their prize and tickets are validated. Pennsylvania Lottery Mega Millions winners have a year from the drawing date to do so.

Don't forget to sign the back of your ticket if you buy one in-store! Winners who purchase online will see their winnings automatically deposited into their account after the claim is processed.

Every ticket counts

While this recent winner hit it big, over 18,700 other PA Lottery Mega Millions tickets won prizes in the September 24 drawing. That includes more than 4,300 tickets that used the Megaplier option, potentially multiplying their winnings. So, the message is clear: check your tickets every single time!

The Mega Millions jackpot wasn't won this time around, but it's grown to a $77 million annuity value (or $38.2 million cash) for the next drawing on Friday, September 27.

Will you be the next lucky winner?

Winning in Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania has been on a winning streak lately when it comes to the Mega Millions lottery! Here are some recent winners:

  • April 2024: A Lebanon County resident won $1 million after purchasing a ticket at BG's Value Market in Jonestown.
  • May 2024: A lucky player in Allegheny County took home $3 million after matching all five white balls (plus the Megaplier) at Kuhn's Market in Pittsburgh.
  • June 2024: A Berks County resident won $1 million by purchasing a ticket online for the Tuesday, June 11 drawing.

These are just a few examples of the lucky Pennsylvania players who have hit it big in recent months.

Did you know?

All Pennsylvania Lottery proceeds go towards programs benefiting older residents in the state. Since its launch in 1972, the Lottery has contributed $36.2 billion to fund programs like property tax rebates, transportation assistance, and senior centers.
