What do you do when you win $29 million playing Lotto Texas? You retire and make plans to enjoy the rest of your life!

Big Lotto Texas jackpot winner

The lucky Austin resident, who chose to remain anonymous, had the winning ticket for the Lotto Texas drawing held on June 24, 2024. The jackpot for that night had climbed to an estimated annuitized $29 million. However, the winner chose the cash value option when they bought their ticket, so they received $16.64 million before taxes.

The winning numbers for that June 24 drawing were 11, 21, 25, 30, 32, and 50. The winner, of course, matched all six of the numbers on their Quick Pick ticket to win the jackpot.

The winning ticket was purchased at Salt Springs Xpress, located at 8101 Salt Springs Drive, Suite A, in Austin.

A nice surprise during a day off

The lucky winner discovered they had won the Lotto Texas jackpot while on their day off from work. They told lottery officials they felt “very excited, but normal and down to earth.” After finding out they won the $29 million jackpot, they just decided to simply enjoy the rest of their day off.

No big celebrations were done, but a calming and relaxing day for the winner. They told lottery officials they have won some small cash prizes while playing other lottery games, but with this big win they plan to “retire and enjoy the rest of my life.”

After winning over $16 million from the Texas Lottery, I think they can afford to do just that!

Lotto Texas — a quick overview

To play Lotto Texas, players select six numbers from 1 to 54, with the game offering multimillion-dollar jackpots. If you don’t want to select your own numbers, you can choose the Quick Pick option and let the computer generate numbers for you.

Lotto Texas drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:12 p.m. CT. Tickets cost $1 per play, and for an additional $1 per play, you can select the Extra! Add-on feature and win up to $10,000 more on non-jackpot prizes.

Another big Texas Lottery winner

Another Texas Lottery player claimed their winnings, as a Teague resident won the top prize worth $5 million in the scratch ticket game $5,000,000 Ultimate.

The winning ticket was purchased at Jet Travel Plaza, located at 771 Texas Highway 179 in Teague. The lucky winner chose to remain anonymous.

This was the second of four top prizes worth $5 million to be claimed in the game, so you still have the opportunity to win big. $5,000,000 Ultimate, a $50 scratch ticket from the Texas Lottery, started its run offering more than $399.2 million in total prizes. The overall odds of winning any prize in the game are 1 in 3.64, including break-even prizes.

Enjoy playing the Texas Lottery, and please remember to play responsibly.
