The Arizona Lottery has partnered with The Foster Alliance, Soles 2 Souls, and Phoenix Premium Outlets to support Arizona children in foster care.

On April 6, 2024, 100 foster children and their parents will get to go shopping for a new pair of shoes. Phoenix Premium Outlets are inviting foster children with The Foster Alliance to attend this exciting event.

In a press release, Bethany Eggleston, vice president of development and marketing at The Foster Alliance, said:

Our goal at The Foster Alliance is to ensure every child on a foster care journey thrives, always. For any child, but especially foster children, it is so important to have shoes that fit not only their feet but their personality. Events like these help them feel like themselves, not just ‘a foster kid.’

About the Foster Alliance

Since 1989, the Foster Alliance has been providing Arizona's foster families with essentials such as food, diapers, clothes, beds, back-to-school supplies, and more. With its mobile program and events such as this one, the Foster Alliance is able to reach out and support foster families throughout the Grand Canyon State.

Vanessa Melendez, Area Director of Marketing and Business Development at Phoenix Premium Outlets, expressed how thrilled the company is to be hosting the event at Famous Footwear:

Having the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children from the Foster Alliance is truly rewarding.

The Arizona Lottery's continued commitment

This collaboration highlights the continued commitment of the Arizona Lottery to make a difference in the lives of Arizonans. In tandem with Soles 2 Souls and Famous Footwear, they will welcome foster families to choose a new pair of shoes for their children. Famous Footwear has also offered the Arizona Lottery a 20% discount to expand the impact of the event.

The Arizona Lottery is well-known for its longstanding support of endeavors that benefit children in the community. To date, the Arizona Lottery has raised $90.4 million in lottery revenue to support and protect each child's right to be safe, to be treated with dignity and respect, and to learn and grow in the security of a loving family home.

About Soul 2 Soles

Soles 2 Souls is a non-profit organization with a mission to ensure that Arizona residents with limited resources have access to quality shoes. The charity was founded by two Phoenix teenagers in 2021. Since that time, Sole 2 Soul has given several hundred pairs of new shoes to children in foster care, homeless individuals, and others.

The Arizona Lottery has given $25,000 to Soles 2 Souls, which has enabled the charity to extend its program throughout the year.

Andrew Phillips, director of communications and events at Sole 2 Soul, said:

"The Arizona Lottery's generous sponsorship of our organization as we move into this next chapter of our charity is very touching."
