The power has been in Wisconsin when it comes to the Powerball drawings in 2024!

For the Monday, April 1 drawing, the Wisconsin Lottery announced two lucky winners from the state.

The Powerball winning tickets

In Wisconsin, there were two lucky tickets that won big prizes in the April 1 drawing. One of the winning tickets was for $100,000, and one was for $50,000.

The winning $100,000 Powerball ticket was sold at Fort BP, located at 1901 E. Hwy 33 in Portage, and the winning $50,000 was sold at Casey's General Store, located at 1306 4 Mile Rd. in Racine.

Both of these winning tickets matched four of the five white ball numbers and the Powerball number. For the April 1 drawing, the winning white ball numbers were 19, 24, 40, 42, and 56, and the Powerball was 23.

While both tickets matched the same amount of winning numbers, only one of the tickets played the Power Play option. The $100,000 winning ticket included the $1 Power Play option, which increased their winnings from $50,000 to $100,000 because the multiplier that night was 2X.

Neither of the winning tickets has been claimed yet. Players have 180 days from the draw date to claim their winnings in Wisconsin.

Portage is for Powerball winners

If you are from Wisconsin and live in Portage (or anywhere close by), you may want to make a drive to Portage to buy your next Powerball ticket!

In addition to the $100,000 winning ticket just sold at Fort BP in Portage, there have also been two winning $50,000 Powerball tickets sold in Portage in the last two months. The other $50,000 winning tickets were sold at different Kwik Trip locations in Portage.

When talking with lottery officials, Fort BP manager Megan Mussehl said:

We are so excited to see all of these wins in Portage.

Including the $100,000 and $50,000 Powerball wins on April 1, there have been a total of 16 winning tickets of $50,000 or more purchased in Wisconsin in 2024. And players are not the only winners here, as Wisconsin Lottery retailers who sell winning tickets over $599 receive a two percent Retailer Performance Winning Ticket Incentive, up to $100,000.

About the Wisconsin Lottery

So, when did the lottery start up in Wisconsin? The Wisconsin Lottery started selling tickets in 1988. The first games that sold were an instant game, Match 3, and a pull-tab called Wisconsin Red.

Now, the Wisconsin Lottery offers the popular multi-state games of Powerball, Mega Millions, and Megabucks. They also offer in-state draw games of Pick 3, Pick 4, SuperCash!, and Badger 5. Players also have the option of playing scratch games.

After funding the prizes won, retailer compensation, and operational expenses, proceeds from the Wisconsin Lottery go toward property tax credits for Wisconsin homeowners.

Enjoy playing the Wisconsin Lottery, and please remember to play responsibly.
