If you win the lottery in Wyoming, you must contact a brand new address to claim your prize.

As of July 28, the Wyoming Lottery headquarters has moved to a new modern building at 808 West 20th Street, Cheyenne, Wyoming, 82001.

How to claim tickets

When Wyoming lotto players win a prize, they can cash their tickets in two ways: by mail, or in-person. Both of them require the new address. The previous address - 1620 Central Avenue, Suite 100, Cheyenne, Wyoming, 82001 - is permanently closed.

By mail, for prizes over $600, winners will have to provide the winning ticket, copies of an official photo ID, and a claim form. You will also need to send a copy of a Social Security card, a W-2, or another government-issued form that contains your name and full Social Security number.

A winner's claim form can be found on the Wyoming Lottery site. It can be anxiety-inducing to send so many sensitive documents through the mail, so we recommend using registered or certified mail to secure the transaction.

To cash your winnings in person - which is the most secure option - you must go to the new headquarters with your signed winning ticket, photo ID, and a government document as specified above.

Before going in person, winners must make an appointment by calling 307-432-9300 or 855-WY-LOTTO. Office hours are 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday with a lunch break from 12:30 to 1:30pm.

Prizes worth $599 or less can be claimed at a participating retailer. The ticket can also be mailed to headquarters without a claim form or documentation. Winners simply need to sign the back of the ticket. In fact, it's sound advice to always sign the back of your lottery tickets.

Are Wyoming players winning?

Wyoming has six lottery games, including Powerball, Mega Millions, and state games like Keno, 2by2, Cowboy Draw, and Lucky for Life.

Wyoming lottery players have won $146.4 million since the lottery's inception in 2014, according to the Wyoming Lottery. This figure is lower than that of other states, mainly because it's the state with the lowest population in the country. About $41.6 million has been given as unrestricted funding toward towns and counties, while over $1 million a year is paid to retailers for selling winning tickets.

Wyoming has six lottery games, including Powerball, Mega Millions, and state games, and winners are allowed to stay anonymous unless they're participating in a special promotion or giveaway.

Can I claim my prizes online?

You can't claim prizes online in Wyoming. Online games through the state are not available, either. Lottery couriers, which are independent businesses that sell lottery tickets online as intermediaries, are also not available in Wyoming.

Lottery is subject to state law. One of the statutes that hinders the use of online gameplay states that lottery tickets must be purchased at a retailer in cash. Debit and credit cards are not permitted. Like many state lotteries, the lottery in Wyoming is a brick-and-mortar, snail mail experience for the duration, without exception.
