Everything's bigger in Texas, including the dreams of striking it rich! The Lotto Texas jackpot has soared to an incredible $73.5 million — currently the largest lottery prize on the planet.

With the clock ticking down to tonight's drawing, excitement is building as players across the state grab their tickets for a chance to win the eighth-largest jackpot in the game's history. Will this be the night someone's life changes forever, or will the prize roll even higher for the next drawing?

Eighth-largest jackpot in the game's history

Tonight's Lotto Texas drawing happens to be the 93rd drawing in this current jackpot run, which started at an estimated jackpot of $5 million. That first drawing was on June 26, 2024, making this the longest jackpot run in the game's history.

In addition, this is the largest Lotto Texas jackpot since the April 22, 2023, drawing, when one ticket purchased in Colleyville won the estimated $95 million jackpot that night. Overall, this $73.5 million jackpot is the eighth-largest jackpot in the game's history. The estimated cash value for this jackpot is $39.6 million.

Texas players are on a hot streak

It has been a lucky week for Texas Lottery players, with three second-tier prizes of $1 million or larger being won in Mega Millions and Powerball over this past week, lottery officials said.

“We're hoping the win streak continues in tonight's Lotto Texas drawing, which is now offering the world's biggest jackpot prize. This jackpot run is also an exciting one not only for our players but for one of our key beneficiaries — public education in Texas. Remember, it only takes one ticket to win, and players must be 18 years old to play.”

So, Lotto Texas players are hoping that hot streak stays hot with someone winning the biggest jackpot prize in the world tonight.

Lotto Texas players have been winning

Despite no jackpot winner since June 2024, there have been many Lotto Texas players walking away with lower-tier prizes during this current jackpot run. For those players that add on the Extra! feature for $1 more per play, they have seen their non-jackpot prizes increased by up to $10,000.

For the last drawing on Saturday, January 25, 2025, there were 103,032 Lotto Texas tickets that won lower-tier prizes. These prizes ranged from $2 up to $12,204, thanks to those players that played Extra!

Top 10 Lotto Texas jackpots

As stated above, tonight's jackpot is the eighth-largest jackpot in the game's history. According to lottery officials, the game has seen five different winning jackpot drawings in the $70 million range throughout the game's 32-year history.

When looking at last year's jackpot winners, there were two Lotto Texas jackpots won in 2024. The last jackpot winner took place on June 24, 2024, when an Austin resident won the $29 million jackpot that night. Now let's look at the Top 10 jackpots won in Lotto Texas:
