Five months into 2024, we have the third Multi-Match jackpot winner of the year for the Maryland Lottery.

Winners all around

Another jackpot winner has been crowned after the Thursday, May 30 drawing for the Multi-Match game. The Multi-Match jackpot hit $580,000 for last night's drawing, and the winning ticket was sold in Adelphi.

The winning numbers for the draw were 3, 5, 21, 31, 32, and 34, and the winning ticket, which was purchased at Wawa #8521, located at 9100 Riggs Road in Prince George's County, matched all six numbers. For selling the winning ticket, the Adelphi retailer will receive a $1,000 bonus from the Lottery.

When the ticket holder comes forward to claim their prize, they can choose between the annuity, which is paid out in 25 equal installments, or the lump sum payment, which would be an estimated $330,000 cash payment (before taxes).

The Maryland Lottery encourages all winners to sign the back of their tickets and keep them in a safe location. Players have 182 days after the date of the drawing to claim their prize.

The third big winner of 2024

This latest jackpot winner was the third Multi-Match winner of 2024. Last night's drawing was the first game to produce a jackpot winner since the April 29 drawing.

That drawing produced a $660,000 winning ticket, which Lottery officials said is still unclaimed. That winning ticket was purchased at St. Paul Mini Mart, located at 815 St. Paul Street in Baltimore City. The winning numbers for that draw were 4, 13, 21, 34, 42, and 43.

The first Multi-Match jackpot winner of 2024 came on March 25, when a ticket purchased in Belcamp won $2.1 million. The jackpot-winning ticket was claimed by an anonymous couple in Aberdeen.

Lottery officials said the Multi-Match game had 10 jackpot winners in 2023, six in 2022, and five in 2021.

The core mission of the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency is to generate revenue to support good causes in the state. These good causes include education, public safety, public health, and the environment.

The Maryland Lottery got its start in 1973 and since then, the agency has contributed more than $19.3 billion in revenue to the state. Lottery players have also won more than $31.5 billion in prizes since 1973.

The first instant scratch-off game for the Maryland Lottery went on sale in 1976. This scratch-off game was called Instant Lottery and featured the Lottery's wishbone logo. It sold for $1, and the top prize was $10,000.

Paul McNabb became the Maryland Lottery's first millionaire in 1973. Since then, Lottery officials say that Maryland Lottery players win, on average, $4.6 million in prizes each day.

In September 2010, the state opened the first of six casinos. Since 2010, the casinos in Maryland have generated more than $4.6 billion for the Education Trust Fund.
