One lucky person is screaming with joy in Monmouth County as the New Jersey Lottery announced one lucky ticket matched all of the winning numbers for the Jersey Cash 5 drawing to claim the biggest jackpot in the game's history!

Record-breaking jackpot

The Jersey Cash 5 jackpot for the Thursday, October 3, drawing had made its way up to $2.44 million, which is the largest in the game's history. After the drawing was complete, one lucky ticket matched all five of the numbers drawn to win that largest jackpot.

The winning numbers for that drawing were 6, 10, 14, 18, and 29, and the XTRA number was 5. The Bullseye number was 18.

Lottery officials said there was one lucky ticket that matched all five of the winning numbers drawn. That winning ticket was purchased at Wilson Avenue Deli, located at 198 Wilson Avenue Port in Monmouth.

For selling the winning ticket, Wilson Avenue Deli will receive a bonus check from the state lottery for $2,000.

Previous Jersey Cash 5 jackpot record

While the New Jersey Lottery was breaking records during last night's Jersey Cash 5 drawing, the previous highest jackpot for the draw game was back in May 2023.

On Friday, May 26, 2023, three lucky tickets matched all five of the winning numbers drawn that night to split the $2.09 million jackpot. These three winners each won their equal share of that jackpot, which worked out to be $696,400.

The winning numbers for that drawing were 2, 5, 6, 10, and 19, and the XTRA number was 2. The winning tickets were purchased at:

  • Two of the tickets were purchased at $.99 Cent Global, located at 306 Central Ave. in Jersey City.
  • One ticket was purchased at 7-Eleven #39439, located at 78 Princeton Hightstown Rd. in Princeton Junction.

For selling those jackpot-winning tickets, the retailers also received a bonus check of $2,000 from the state lottery for each winning ticket sold.

Another big New Jersey Lottery win

While Jersey Cash 5 players were celebrating the big win, there was another New Jersey Lottery player celebrating. A lucky player, also in Monmouth County, recently purchased a Quick Draw Progressive ticket and ended up winning the $332,370 jackpot, which was 100% of the progressive jackpot at the time!

Quick Draw Progressive tickets can be purchased at any lottery retailer in the state, and it gives players a faster way to see if their ticket is a lucky winner instead of having to scratch it off like an instant ticket.

This winning Quick Draw Progressive ticket was purchased at Stop & Shop #887 on Route 35 South and Twin Brook Rd. in Middletown.

For those not familiar with the Quick Draw Progressive game, it is a rolling jackpot that is available to every single player at no additional cost. When you purchase a ticket, a set of nine “Your Jackpot Numbers” (1-80) are randomly selected for you and printed at the bottom of your ticket.

If all nine of your numbers are selected during the Quick Draw drawing, then you are eligible to win a portion of the Progressive Jackpot based on the amount you wagered. If you wagered $1 per draw, then the ticket wins 10% of the jackpot, a $2 wager per draw would win 20% of the jackpot, and so on. Any ticket with a wager of $10 or more would be eligible to receive 100% of the jackpot.

Enjoy playing the New Jersey Lottery, and please remember to play responsibly.
