Tennessee Cash - how does it work?

Tennessee Cash is a Tennessee-only draw game, with the draws taking place on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 10:30 p.m. CT. It costs $1 per play, and for an additional $1, players can add the Quick Cash option.

To play, you need to select five numbers from 1 to 35, or you can use the Quick Pick option and let the computer select random numbers for you. You can also add the Quick Cash option, which gives players a chance at more prizes.

The jackpot for Tennessee Cash starts at $200,000. All prizes for Tennessee Cash, except for match 2, are pari-mutuel, which means a percentage of ticket sales is allocated to each prize category. That means the prizes can vary for every draw.

The Tennessee Lottery states at least 50% of the total Tennessee Cash ticket sales are allocated to the prize pool.

Speaking of prizes, there are eight prize categories for Tennessee Cash, and an extra 10 instant prizes available for those players that choose the Quick Cash option. To win a prize, you need to match at least two of the numbers drawn. If you do this, you will win a free Quick Pick ticket. Each prize category varies, but goes all the way to the jackpot for matching all of the numbers.

If you select the Quick Cash option, you are given a series of numbers. If any of those numbers match any of the Quick Cash numbers, you win the amount shown. The Quick Cash Cash Ball number can only match the Cash Ball number on your ticket to win.

What is the Cash Ball? This is the sixth number drawn, which is between 1 and 5. If you add the Quick Cash option to your ticket, you can win an extra prize by matching the Quick Cash Cash Ball number to your Cash Ball number.

The jackpot winner above beat the odds, which are 1 in 1.62 million for matching five numbers plus the Cash Ball. The overall odds of winning any prize in Tennessee Cash are 1 in 7.
