Luck was in the air in Darlington last night, where one South Carolina Lottery player managed to snag a rolling Palmetto Cash 5 jackpot. After several draws without a top prize winner, the game finally paid out in a big way, and one lucky ticket-holder is holding onto a jackpot-winning ticket now.

Jackpot win in Darlington

It looks like residents of Darlington, South Carolina, need to check their Palmetto Cash 5 tickets from last night. One lucky ticket matched all of the winning numbers on Monday, August 18, 2025, and won the $212,000 jackpot.

The winning numbers for last night's Palmetto Cash 5 jackpot were 3, 5, 18, 26, and 37. The winning ticket was purchased at Refuel #67, located at 1680 S. Main St. in Darlington.

This $212,000 jackpot had rolled nine times before the big win last night. This jackpot win also marks the 24th jackpot win for Palmetto Cash 5 players in South Carolina for 2025.

Claiming your prize

The odds of winning the Palmetto Cash 5 jackpot are 1 in 850,668. If you happen to be the person who beat those odds and are holding onto the jackpot-winning ticket, then you have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim your prize.

After last night's win, the jackpot is now reset to $100,000 for tonight's drawing.

This guy has a "knack for winning"

Meanwhile, a Lowcountry man recently had some luck playing scratch-off tickets from the South Carolina Lottery. A couple of days after the man won $500,000 playing the lottery, he then won another $1,000.

The winner's wife talked to lottery officials, saying her husband “has a weird knack for winning.” She, however, does not. She added, “He can give me a ticket and I won't win anything.”

Over the years, the Lowcountry man has won several $500 and $1,000 prizes. However, this recent $500,000 win was definitely the most exciting for them.

The man stopped into the store early one morning and bought a $10 Win Big ticket. After scratching the ticket and finding out he won $500,000, he tried calling his wife, but she was still sleeping. He texted her instead.

When she woke up, she read the text and thought he had won $500. However, she wasn't surprised to find out it was a thousand times more than that amount.

She told lottery officials, “It's been a running joke for a while that he was going to win big.”

And it looks like it happened. The couple made their way to lottery headquarters recently, and now, with the money in hand, they plan on paying off their house.

The lucky man bought the winning ticket from Parker's #77, located on Cane Bay Blvd. in Summerville. For selling the winning ticket, the lottery retailer will receive a $5,000 bonus from the state lottery. After he claimed this top prize, lottery officials said there are two remaining top prizes for the $10 Win Big ticket.

Enjoy playing the South Carolina Lottery, and please remember to play responsibly.
