Michigan Lottery players are on a hot streak.

For the 13th time this year, someone has won $25,000 a year for life playing Lucky For Life. This latest win marks an exceptional year for the game in the Great Lakes State.

The lucky 13th winner

The most recent winner matched all five white balls in the September 27 drawing. The numbers were 04-07-09-24-36. The ticket was purchased at Lakeview Market in White Lake, about 40 miles northwest of Detroit.

Lottery Commissioner Suzanna Shkreli expressed excitement about the streak. "Lucky For Life continues to be incredibly lucky for Michigan Lottery players," she said. The commissioner also highlighted other recent wins:

  • Three $25,000 a year for life Lucky For Life prizes
  • A $5 million Mega Millions prize
  • A $1.72 million Lotto 47 jackpot

Lucky For Life winners have two choices for collecting their prize:

  • Annual payments of $25,000 for at least 20 years or life, whichever is longer
  • A one-time lump sum payment of $390,000

Winners should contact the Michigan Lottery player relations division to claim their prize. Tickets are valid for one year from the drawing date.

How to play

For $2 per play, lottery enthusiasts can win prizes ranging from $3 to a lifetime of cash. To win the top prize of $1,000 a day for life, players must match all five numbers (1-48) plus the Lucky Ball (1-18). Matching all five numbers without the Lucky Ball wins $25,000 a year for life.

Drawings occur nightly at 10:38 p.m. ET.

Since 1972, the lottery has contributed more than $28 billion to support public education in Michigan.
