The Lotto America jackpot has been rising, and tonight, it's reached an impressive $21.73 million. That jackpot size makes it the third-largest prize in the game's history.

It's been a wild ride since the last winner in Minnesota back in April 2024, and with each draw, the jackpot has been growing higher and catching the attention of players across the country. Tonight might be the night someone hits it big!

Third-largest jackpot in Lotto America history

We are reaching new heights with tonight's Lotto America drawing, as the estimated jackpot for tonight is at $21.73 million with an estimated cash value of $9.52 million.

With that being said, tonight will be the 111th consecutive draw since a ticket last won. The last win came on April 24, 2024, when one lucky ticket in Minnesota matched all the winning numbers to win the $3.11 million jackpot.

This $21.73 jackpot happens to be the third-largest jackpot in the game's history. Since the draw game launched in 2017, there have only been 13 jackpot winners, which can be seen here:

  • April 1, 2023 – $40.03 million jackpot winner from Iowa
  • March 14, 2018 – $22.82 million jackpot winner from Minnesota
  • January 15, 2025 – $21.73 million jackpot winner from unknown location
  • July 10, 2019 – $21.6 million jackpot winner from Minnesota
  • September 9, 2023 – $9.71 million jackpot winner from Tennessee
  • April 1, 2020 – $9.01 million jackpot winner from Tennessee
  • July 14, 2021 – $8.04 million jackpot winner from Oklahoma
  • May 5, 2018 – $4.38 million jackpot winner from Iowa
  • August 19, 2020 – $4.28 million jackpot winner from West Virginia
  • March 4, 2024 – $3.73 million jackpot winner from Minnesota
  • November 4, 2023 – $3.52 million jackpot winner from New Mexico
  • December 5, 2020 – $3.5 million jackpot winner from Oklahoma
  • April 24, 2024 – $3.11 million jackpot winner from Minnesota
  • December 27, 2023 – $3.1 million jackpot winner from Tennessee

As you can see, Minnesota and Tennessee players have been dominating these jackpot wins. With 13 total Lotto America jackpot wins, Minnesota (4) and Tennessee (3) have over half of them coming from their states. Which state will be added to the list, and when will it happen?

Lotto America — how does it work?

Lotto America, for those unfamiliar, is a multi-state lottery game that debuted in 2017. The Multi-State Lottery Association operates the draw game, which is a revival of the original Lotto America, which was offered from 1988 to 1992.

Lotto America is available to play in 15 jurisdictions: Delaware, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Minnesota, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, and West Virginia. The drawings take place every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 9:15 p.m. CT.

To play Lotto America, players pick five numbers from 1 to 52 and then pick a Star Ball number from 1 to 10. Each ticket costs $1 per play, and for an additional $1, players can add the All Star Bonus option, which is an add-on where a randomly drawn number can multiply non-jackpot winnings by 2, 3, 4, or 5 times.

There are nine prize categories in the Lotto America game, which ranges from $2 for matching the Star Ball up to the jackpot for matching all six of the winning numbers drawn. The jackpot starts at $2 million and grows with each drawing that doesn't have a jackpot winner.

Enjoy playing the lottery, and please remember to play responsibly.
