If you're searching for a little extra luck in your lottery adventures, you might want to take notes — some stores in Washington seem to have a magic touch. The Washington Lottery has pinpointed the luckiest retailers across the state, highlighting the spots that have sold the most winning tickets worth $1,000 or more.

Whether you're a casual player or a jackpot dreamer, these locations might just be worth a visit. So, which stores are hot? Let's break down where luck has been striking region by region.

Dividing the state into regions

With St. Patrick's Day approaching, many people have the luck of the Irish on their minds. However, the Washington Lottery is thinking about luck for their lottery players.

In doing so, they have released a full list of the luckiest lottery retailers in the state that sold the most winning tickets valued at $1,000 or more. For this list, lottery officials divided the state into seven regions: South Puget Sound, North Puget Sound, Olympics Peninsula, Eastern Washington, Southwest Washington, Tri-Cities, and Central Washington. We will break down each region below.

South Puget Sound

For the seventh year in a row, the South Puget Sound region was named the Luckiest Region in Washington. To get that title, the top five luckiest retailers in the region had a total of 86 wins of $1,000 or more, which can be seen here:

  • 20 wins: Fred Meyer, located at 801 Auburn Way N in Auburn (they sold the $754.6 million jackpot-winning Powerball ticket in 2023);
  • 19 wins: Fred Meyer, located at 365 Renton Center Way SW in Renton;
  • 16 wins: Muckleshoot Casino Resort, located at 2402 Auburn Way S in Auburn;
  • 16 wins: Fred Meyer, located at 14300 1st Avenue S in Burien;
  • 15 wins: Safeway, located at 708 Shaw Road in Puyallup.

North Puget Sound

It was also a big year for the North Puget Sound region, with 53 wins of $1,000 or more. This makes it the second luckiest region in the state.

The top five luckiest retailers can be seen here:

  • 13 wins: Safeway, located at 7601 Evergreen Way in Everett (rose from third place in 2023 with 8 wins to the top spot in 2024);

Southwest Washington

If this list provides anything, it's that Vancouver is a lucky city for players in the Southwest Washington region. Of the top five spots, four of them are in Vancouver:

  • 10 wins: Wray's Meadowbrook, located at 7200 W Nob Hill Boulevard in Yakima (big jump for Wray's, as they were fifth place in 2023 with just four wins);
