A lucky Green County lottery player recently claimed the $75,000 prize that he won playing the Kentucky Lottery's Wild 8's instant-win game.

In an interview with the Kentucky Lottery, Scott Lockard said that earlier the same day, he'd been playing his favorite Instant Play game, Kentucky Cash Drop, and had won $375.

While lying in bed later that night, he played a couple more rounds of Kentucky Cash Drop, then decided to switch his game. It was then that he wagered $10 on the Wild 8's Instant Play game and had a bigger win.

Scott said:

No way, it popped up $75,000. I just wasn't expecting to see that, so I thought it said $750. I went to show it to my girlfriend, and when I turned the phone I saw more zeroes.

His heart was pounding. He could barely believe his eyes, never having won a prize so big. He arrived at the lottery headquarters the next morning after having a sleepless night. He took home a check for $54,000 after tax withholdings.

He said:

I never imagined having this kind of money, and it's going to be a tremendous help.
