If you've visited the Kansas Lottery online recently, you may have noticed something different. Two websites now carry the Lottery's name. One focused on online play, and the other on information. That's not an accident, and understanding why makes navigating both a lot easier.
What happened to kslottery.com?
As of March 26, 2026, kslottery.com permanently redirects to playonkansas.com. If you have the old address bookmarked, update it. The original site no longer exists.
The shift started with a straightforward goal: consolidate the Lottery's website, player loyalty program, and digital games under one roof. Partway through that build, the State of Kansas issued a new requirement. Every state agency had to operate a .gov domain for official purposes. The Kansas Lottery had never had one before.
It was time to modify the plan.
Two websites, two purposes
The .gov site is built for compliance, not commerce. So the Lottery now runs two separate properties.
Kslottery.gov is the official state site. It houses the regulatory material, like reports, press releases, and standard game information. Think of it as the filing cabinet.
Playonkansas.com is where players go. Games, account management, responsible gaming resources, second-chance promotions, flash sales, e-instant games, and the loyalty program all live here. If you want to play or learn more about lottery games, this is your destination.
What's available to play online?
Kansas launched its online lottery program in February 2025. At the start, the digital catalog included Powerball, Mega Millions, and roughly 20 e-instant games, digital scratch tickets you can play from anywhere.
The catalog has since grown, with Lotto America and Millionaire for Life now available for online play. The e-instant lineup rotates, typically keeping 20 to 25 titles available at any time.
A quick look at the Kansas Lottery
The Kansas Lottery has been around since 1987, after 64 percent of Kansas voters approved a constitutional amendment in November 1986 authorizing a state lottery. The mission has stayed the same since day one: generate maximum revenue for the state while keeping every game above reproach.
Players can choose from scratch-off tickets ranging from $1 to $50, pull tab games, and a full draw game lineup that includes Powerball, Mega Millions, Lotto America, Millionaire for Life, Super Kansas Cash, Pick 3, 2by2, Keno, and Racetrax. Around 1,750 retail locations carry Lottery products statewide.
