The Illinois Lottery is turning up the heat this winter with the launch of HotWins, a fast-paced draw game that delivers a new drawing every four minutes. Unlike traditional games with just a handful of daily drawings, HotWins is designed for nonstop action, giving players frequent chances to jump in, catch the results live, and see if they've won — all in a matter of minutes.

A drawing every 4 minutes

This isn't your typical draw game from the Illinois Lottery, where we have two or three drawings every day, like in Lucky Day Lotto and Pick 3.  HotWins gives players a new drawing every four minutes.

The Illinois Lottery is touting this high-energy game as an option for players looking for a faster, more social lottery experience. This gives players frequent opportunities to play and win throughout the day.

In a press release from the Illinois Lottery, Harold Mays, Director of the Illinois Lottery, said:

HotWins represents the next evolution of lottery entertainment. It's designed to be social and to meet players where they already gather—whether that's a neighborhood bar, restaurant, or local convenience store—offering more chances to play and win, more often.

Where can you play HotWins?

For this new, quick-fire draw game from the Illinois Lottery, officials said it is now available at about 7,000 Illinois Lottery retailers across the state. This includes an expanding number of bars and restaurants in the state.

This is something new for lottery players in the state, also. Normally, lottery players in the state would have to buy their tickets at gas stations, convenience stores, or grocery stores. That's not the case with HotWins, which you can purchase at your local dive bar or family restaurant.

Mays stated:

HotWins adds a new option for entertainment in these familiar settings. Players can grab a ticket, watch the draw, and see results in just minutes.

How to play HotWins

Interested in how to play HotWins? To do so, players would select 1-10 numbers from 1 through 80 for a chance to win a prize.

Wagers for HotWins start at $1, with options to increase stakes for higher potential payouts. To win the top prize of up to $1 million, players would select the $10 “HOT” wager option.

As we stated above, the drawings are held every four minutes. The results from each drawing are displayed live on in-store screens and terminals.

By having this option, it's creating an interactive and social experience. And with the tickets being sold at bars and restaurants, it's a perfect way to spend a night out with friends.

Kick-off promotions

With the launch of HotWins, the Illinois Lottery is hosting events across the state. These kick-off events will take place at both traditional lottery locations, as well as new bar and restaurant locations.

Not only will these events educate residents on how to play the game, but they will also feature free giveaways and offer other chances to win additional prizes. A schedule of the upcoming events can be found on the Illinois Lottery website. Mays announced:

We're introducing a new category of lottery entertainment for Illinois that brings people together. Whether you're a longtime player or trying the Lottery for the first time, HotWins offers an exciting new way to play.

Enjoy playing the Illinois Lottery, and please remember to play responsibly.
