Lottery players in California are riding a golden streak right now, as they have won second-tier prizes for three consecutive Powerball and Mega Millions drawings, including a $1.21 million prize.

The start of the winning streak

This current winning streak started on Monday, November 4, 2024, with the Powerball drawing. The estimated jackpot for that night's drawing was $65 million, with a cash value of $30.7 million.

The winning white ball numbers for that drawing were 6, 18, 33, 48, and 53, with a Powerball number of 21 and Power Play of 10X. The winning ticket from California matched all five of the winning white ball numbers but missed the Powerball to win the second-tier prize.

In California, lottery prizes are adjusted based on the number of tickets sold and the number of winners in that drawing. For this Match 5 prize on Monday, the lucky winner got $161,556.

Lottery officials said this winning California ticket was purchased at Teddy's Liquor Store and Market in Los Angeles.

Night 2 of the winning streak

On Tuesday night, the winning streak officially started for California Lottery players during the Mega Millions drawing. The estimated jackpot for that November 5 drawing was $303 million with a cash option of $141.3 million.

The winning white ball numbers for that drawing were 2, 24, 25, 52, and 58, and the Mega Ball was 9 with a Megaplier of 2X. Again, the winning ticket from California matched all five of the white ball numbers drawn but missed out on matching the Mega Ball to win the second-tier prize.

With California adjusting lottery prizes based on the number of tickets sold and the number of winners, this lucky winner ended up winning $1.21 million.

Lottery officials said the winning ticket was purchased from Lake Liquor in Woodlake. For selling the winning ticket, the lottery retailer received a bonus of more than $6,000.

No tickets matched all six of the winning numbers that night, so the jackpot increased to an estimated $334 million for the next drawing, which takes place on Friday, November 8.

Winning streak continues into Night 3

The winning continued for a third night in a row for the nationwide draw games. On Wednesday, November 6, the Powerball drawing was held. The estimated jackpot for last night's drawing was $76 million, with a cash value of $35.9 million.

For the drawing, the winning white ball numbers were 12, 17, 37, 58, and 62, with a Powerball number of 4 and Power Play of 2X. Like the other two tickets, this winning ticket matched all five of the winning white ball numbers but missed the Powerball to win the second-tier prize.

After adjusting the prize amount based on the number of tickets sold and the number of winners, this lucky winner took home $66,622. The winning ticket was purchased at Rancho Bernardo Car Wash in San Diego.

There were no jackpot winners on the night, so it increased to an estimated $92 million for the next drawing, which takes place on Saturday, November 9.

Will the winning streak continue with the next Mega Millions drawing?
