It was a big month for lottery players in Louisiana, as the Louisiana Lottery Corporation announced that nearly $16.2 million in cash prizes were paid out to scratch-off game players in February.

For the draw games in February, players in Louisiana also almost won $6.5 million.

Scratch-off game winners

The scratch-off game winners brought home almost $16.2 million during the month. That total includes a Power 50X winner worth $200,000. In Louisiana, players also claimed $1.8 million worth of free-ticket prizes for the month of February.

Lottery officials said the scratch-off games are open until all the top prizes are claimed. At that point, scratch-off players have 90 days from the official game closure date to redeem a winning ticket.

Powerball winners

For February, the Louisiana Lottery Corporation said there were more than 28,000 Power Play purchasers that won an extra $216,100 on top of their regular Powerball prizes for a total of $342,609 in winnings.

There were also 15 Powerball with Power Play match-4 prizes won, totaling $4,400. In addition, 34 Powerball match-4 prizes won, totaling $3,400.

Mega Millions winners

For Mega Millions players in Louisiana, nearly 20,000 Megaplier purchasers won a bonus total of $174,966. This was added to their regular Mega Millions prizes, which totaled $248,278 in February.

Other Mega Millions winners included one Mega Millions match-4 plus Mega Ball prize worth $10,000, 12 Mega Millions with Megaplier match-4 totaling $20,000, and 26 Mega Millions match-4 prizes totaling $13,000.

Other draw-game winners

For the month of February, the total amount of draw-style game winnings was almost $6.5 million. Winners in the draw-style games have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim their winnings from those tickets. This $6.5 million included:

  • Pick 3 winning tickets totaling $2.7 million
  • Pick 4 tickets totaling $1.7 million
  • Pick 5 prizes worth $482,275.
  • Easy 5 prizes totaling $325,562, which included a jackpot prize winner worth $213,894. In addition, $83,007 was won on ezmatch, an instant-win option available for an additional $1.
  • Lotto players won a total of $276,344, including 45 players winning the Lotto match-5 prize totaling $52,432.

Fast Play winners

Louisiana Lottery’s instant-win terminal Fast Play games won $864,196 in prizes for February. These prizes can be claimed up to 90 days following the closure of the game.

Lottery President Rose Hudson said, “We encourage players to sign the back of their tickets immediately after purchasing and to check them promptly after the drawing. Even if a ticket does not win the jackpot, it could have won another prize.”

It was a successful February in Louisiana and here's hoping that March keeps that winning feeling going.

Enjoy playing the Louisiana Lottery, and please remember to play responsibly.
