Calling all District of Columbia Powerball players! Get ready for a double dose of excitement with the launch of Powerball Double Play.

This innovative add-on feature gives you another shot at winning big, with a separate drawing offering a top prize of a cool $10 million.

Double the drawings, double the chances

This new feature launched on July 14, 2024. Now, you can supercharge your Powerball experience for just $1 extra.

Here's the deal: select your lucky numbers for the main Powerball draw as usual. Then, with Double Play, those same numbers get automatically entered into a separate drawing held right after the main event. That's two chances to win in one night!

Power up your winnings

Want to boost your non-jackpot winnings in the main Powerball drawing? No problem!

You can still add the familiar Power Play option for an extra $1 per line. Just remember, the Power Play multiplier only applies to prizes won in the main drawing, not Double Play.

If you want to use Double Play, here is your quick guide to more chances to win

  • Cost: $1 per play (on top of the regular $2 Powerball ticket)
  • Drawings: Held after every Powerball drawing on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays
  • Top Prize: $10 million
  • How to Play: Add Double Play to your Powerball ticket at any District of Columbia Lottery retailer, the iLottery platform, or the Mobile App.
