The New Jersey Lottery is mixing things up with their Jersey Cash 5 game, but are you ready for the changes?

Right on the BULLSEYE

Starting July 1, the New Jersey Lottery will now include the BULLSEYE feature for every Jersey Cash 5 ticket. This will be at the new base price of $2.

With this new feature, the Lottery states that players can expect to see bigger, faster rolling jackpots in addition to more prizes available to win! It also increases the starting jackpot to $150,000.

How does BULLSEYE work?

BULLSEYE is a new feature that will automatically be included with every Jersey Cash 5 play. The BULLSEYE will be the last (fifth) number drawn during each Jersey Cash 5 drawing. This BULLSEYE number will give players the opportunity to win bigger prizes and more chances to win.

Wagers for Jersey Cash 5 will be $2 per play, which will include BULLSEYE on every ticket. Players can still choose the XTRA add-on option, which will be $1 per play. With the addition of BULLSEYE, the New Jersey Lottery will also be discontinuing the Instant Match add-on starting July 1.

New prize levels with BULLSEYE

Starting July 1, Jersey Cash 5 players will see new prize levels thanks to the BULLSEYE feature. There will now be six prize levels available, which are broken down as follows:

  • Match all 5 numbers: Win the jackpot
  • Match 4 of 5 numbers WITH BULLSEYE: Win $500
  • Match 4 of 5 numbers NO BULLSEYE: Win $250
  • Match 3 of 5 numbers WITH BULLSEYE: Win $30
  • Match 3 of 5 numbers NO BULLSEYE: Win $15
  • Match 2 of 5 numbers WITH BULLSEYE: Win $5

Keep in mind that you can only win when matching two of the numbers when one of those numbers is the BULLSEYE number. You do not win anything if you match two of the other numbers or just one number.

Answering some FAQs

When making the announcement, the New Jersey Lottery also addressed some of the frequently asked questions players had regarding the changes. The changes to the Jersey Cash 5 game are that the starting jackpot is now $150,000, and each Jersey Cash 5 wager will be $2 per play, per draw, and will automatically include BULLSEYE.

For players adding the XTRA option, XTRA does apply to BULLSEYE prizes. The XTRA will multiply both BULLSEYE and non-BULLSEYE prize tiers. However, XTRA will not multiply the jackpot prize.

With the changes in Jersey Cash 5, the Lottery will be issuing new playslips as well. Starting July 1, players will need to fill out the new play slips when purchasing their tickets. However, the changes will have no effect on the time of the drawings. The Jersey Cash 5 drawing will continue every night at approximately 10:57 p.m. ET.

As officials said, these changes are bringing better odds of winning prizes. The odds of winning the jackpot are still 1 in 1.22 million, but the overall odds of winning a prize have improved to 1 in 25.71.

Enjoy playing the New Jersey Lottery, and please remember to play responsibly.
