What do a mystery LLC, a lucky Long Island couple, and a solo scratch-off winner have in common? They all showed up at New York Lottery headquarters on the same day and walked away with a combined $8 million in prizes.

From life-changing annuities to a Mega Millions multiplier surprise, this trio turned an ordinary day into a jackpot trifecta.

Winner is 'Set For Life'

Someone in Albany County hit the top prize in the New York Lottery's Set For Life scratch-off game, and now an LLC has stepped forward to claim their $5,000 a week for life prize.

The Hills Park DBGM Limited Liability Company (LLC) of Albany arrived at lottery headquarters to claim the game's top prize, for which winners are guaranteed a minimum payout of $5 million.

The LLC opted for the cash value of the annuity prize. They received a one-time cash payment of $2.24 million after the required withholdings.

The winning ticket was purchased at King Kullen, located at 2305 Jericho Turnpike in Hyde Park. After this winning ticket was claimed, lottery officials said there were still five top prizes remaining for the Set For Life ticket.

Multiplier pays off

The game changes for Mega Millions started on April 8, 2025. Francine and Theodore Rosen of Massapequa are happy those changes took effect when they did, as they used their 2X Multiplier in the April 15 Mega Millions drawing to turn their $1 million win into a $2 million win.

The new ticket price for Mega Millions includes a randomly generated Multiplier (2X, 3X, 4X, 5X, or 10X). The Rosens ended up matching the first five numbers in the April 15 drawing to win the $1 million prize.

However, their winning ticket featured a 2X multiplier. That means their standard $1 million Mega Millions second prize doubled to $2 million.

The winning numbers for that drawing were 6, 10, 13, 24, and 63, and the Mega Ball was 2. The Rosens purchased the winning ticket at Manya Card and Gifts, located at 1250C Hicksville Rd. in Seaford.

The couple made their way to lottery headquarters recently and opted to split the $2 million prize evenly. That meant they each received a one-time lump sum payment of $651,000 after the required withholdings.

Another top prize claimed

We had another top prize claimed for one of the New York Lottery's scratch-off games. This time it was for the Bonus 20X instant game, with the lucky winner getting $1 million.

Nicole Hernandez of Elmont was the lucky winner, who received a one-time lump sum payment of $436,171 after the required withholdings.

Hernandez purchased the winning ticket at Jav Tiger Mart, located at 10 Fulton Ave. in Hempstead. After she claimed her top-prize winning ticket, lottery officials said there was only one $1 million prize remaining for the Bonus 20X ticket.

School districts are also winning

Not only are these lucky New York Lottery players winning big, but school districts across the state are also winning big.

In New York, they had total sales of $4.34 billion for scratch-off games during fiscal year 2024-2025. During that same period, school districts in Albany County, where our first winner is from, received $60.69 million in Lottery Aid to Education funds.

Meanwhile, the next two winners are from Nassau County. School districts in Nassau County received $250.17 million in Lottery Aid to Education funds during the same period.

Enjoy playing the New York Lottery, and please remember to play responsibly.
