Sometimes, all it takes is a trip to the cabin and a good friend to strike it rich. A pair of Michigan buddies turned a casual new lottery club into something unforgettable after snagging a massive Fast Cash jackpot.

What started as a spur-of-the-moment tradition ended in a six-figure surprise, and now, their next visit up north is looking a whole lot different.

New club, big win

A couple of friends in Northern Michigan didn't waste any time enjoying their newly formed lottery club. One of the members told lottery officials:

My friend, the other club member, lives in Northern Michigan, and we just recently started playing the lottery together whenever I am up north at my cabin.

It turned out to be a smart club to start, as the duo recently bought a Fast Cash ticket and turned it into a $793,304 jackpot win from the Michigan Lottery.

Before claiming the big win, the friends didn't know how much they actually won since, after scanning it, the machine told them to take it to a lottery office. They recalled:

We scanned it on the Michigan Lottery app next and flipped out when we saw we won the jackpot plus $250,000! It was a total shock, and [it] took a while to wrap our heads around it. I don't think it's going to fully sink in until we cash our checks.

Living a debt-free life

The lucky friends bought their winning ticket at Talley's Log Cabin Bar, located at 2981 Kneeland Street in Lewiston, which is about 25 miles southeast of Gaylord.

The club recently made their way to lottery headquarters to claim their big winnings. Now that the friends have the money in their hands, they told lottery officials they plan on living debt free.

Fast Cash games — how do they work?

For those unfamiliar with Fast Cash games, they offer a progressive jackpot that can be won instantly. Every ticket gives players a chance to win all or part of the progressive jackpot.

All of the Fast Cash games feed into one progressive jackpot, which grows with every ticket purchased. The current jackpot is always printed on the ticket when purchased, and it can be won at any time. Here are the current Fast Cash games in Michigan:

  • Wild Time Progressive – $2 ticket, with prizes ranging from $2 up to $500 and 20% of the Fast Cash progressive jackpot.
  • Lucky Clover – $5 ticket, with prizes ranging from $5 up to $3,500 and 50% of the Fast Cash progressive jackpot.
  • Double Wild Time Progressive – $5 ticket, with prizes ranging from $5 up to $3,000 and 50% of the Fast Cash progressive jackpot.
  • Michigan Money – $5 ticket, with prizes ranging from $5 up to $4,500 and 50% of the Fast Cash progressive jackpot.
  • Double Win Wild Time Progressive – $10 ticket, with prizes ranging from $10 up to $6,000 and 100% of the Fast Cash progressive jackpot.
  • Jackpot Slots – $10 ticket, with prizes ranging from $10 up to $5,000 and 100% of the Fast Cash progressive jackpot.
  • Lucky 7s – $10 ticket, with prizes ranging from $10 up to $4,000 and 100% of the Fast Cash progressive jackpot.
  • Super Lucky 7s – $20 ticket, with prizes ranging from $20 up to $9,000 and 100% of the Fast Cash progressive jackpot plus $250,000.
  • Jumbo Jackpot Slots – $20 ticket, with prizes ranging from $20 up to $10,000 and 100% of the Fast Cash progressive jackpot plus $250,000.
  • Extreme Green – $20 ticket, with prizes ranging from $20 up to $11,000 and 100% of the Fast Cash progressive jackpot plus $250,000.
  • 5 Win Lucky Clover – $20 ticket, with prizes ranging from $20 up to $10,000 and 100% of the Fast Cash progressive jackpot plus $250,000.
  • Jackpot Slots Millionaire – $30 ticket, with prizes ranging from $30 up to 100% of the Fast Cash progressive jackpot plus $1 million.

Big wins in Florida and Georgia also

Players in Florida and Georgia are also celebrating some big lottery wins from last night. In Florida, one lucky quick-pick ticket matched all the winning numbers — 9, 10, 19, 20, 35, and 40 — in the Jackpot Triple Play drawing to win the $875,000 jackpot.

This happened to be the eighth jackpot win of 2025 for the in-state exclusive draw game. Lottery officials said the winning ticket was purchased at Boca Shell, located on North Federal Highway in Boca Raton.

In Georgia, one lucky Covington resident matched all of the winning Fantasy 5 numbers — 6, 27, 28, 35, and 36 — to win the $529,972 jackpot.

Lottery officials said the winning ticket was purchased on the Georgia Lottery app. The odds of winning the top prize in the Fantasy 5 game are 1 in 850,668.

Enjoy playing the lottery, and please remember to play responsibly.
