There's a new millionaire in the Lone Star State, and it's all thanks to one of Texas' favorite homegrown games. Texas Two Step has been making plenty of winners this year, but this latest jackpot has players talking. The twice-weekly draw game produced another life-changing win in Thursday night's drawing, marking one of the biggest payouts of 2025 so far.

New millionaire in Texas

Thanks to the Texas Two Step draw game, there is a new millionaire in town.

Texas Two Step, the twice-weekly draw game from the Texas Lottery, had its Thursday night drawing last night, and one lucky ticket matched all the winning numbers drawn to win the $1.08 million jackpot.

The winning white ball numbers for the October 16, 2025, drawing were 1, 6, 14, and 31, and the Bonus Number was 25. The winning ticket was a Quick Pick ticket, purchased at Mr. T's Market, located at 1100 N. Big Spring St. in Midland.

If you happen to be holding onto this winning ticket, you have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim your prize. Lottery officials said a ticket is not a valid winning ticket until it is presented for payment and meets the Texas Lottery's validation requirements.

How does Texas Two Step work?

Texas Two Step is an in-state draw game available to Texas Lottery players. The drawings are held every Monday and Thursday nights at 10:12 p.m., and it costs $1 per play.

To play, you can ask your lottery retailer for a Quick Pick, where the computer generates numbers for you, or you can fill out a play slip. To do so, you need to pick four numbers between 1 and 35, plus a Bonus Ball number also between 1 and 35.

The Bonus Ball is a red ball drawn after the first four white balls. If you match the Bonus Ball either alone or with other numbers, you win a prize.

The jackpot for Texas Two Step starts at $200,000 and increases every draw until it's won. The odds of winning the Texas Two Step jackpot are 1 in 1.83 million.

There are seven ways a player can win, with the payouts ranging from $5 for matching the Bonus Ball to the jackpot for matching all of the numbers drawn. The jackpots are paid out all at once, as they don't offer an annuity option.

Making the most jackpot winners in Texas each year

While we are celebrating the latest jackpot win for this draw game, lottery officials state Texas Two Step is making the most jackpot winners in the state each year.

So, how many jackpot wins does Texas Two Step have in 2025? And how does this jackpot win stack up to the others? Let's dive into that.

For 2025, this is the 23rd jackpot win for Texas Two Step players. The biggest jackpot win of 2025 came on January 2, when one lucky player won $1.28 million.

There was another jackpot of $1.1 million won on March 20, but that was split by two winners. Last night's win of $1.08 million was the second biggest jackpot of 2025 won by a single player.

This latest jackpot run lasted seven drawings before a new winner was crowned. Needless to say, this draw game does appear to bring a lot of jackpot winners to the state, and quite frequently.

Enjoy playing the Texas Lottery, and please remember to play responsibly.
