It was a $1.8 million jackpot, and two lucky tickets split it for a recent Jersey Cash 5 drawing for the New Jersey Lottery.

The winning tickets

The winning tickets were for the Saturday, May 11, drawing for Jersey Cash 5. The winning numbers were 13, 18, 24, 29, and 35, and the XTRA number was 3. Two lucky tickets matched all five numbers, so each ticket will win $900,420. The winning tickets were sold at the following locations:

  • The Mart, located at 590 Shrewsbury Ave. in Tinton Falls in Monmouth County; and,
  • AJ Seabra Supermarket Inc., located at 260 Lafayette St. in Newark in Essex County.

For selling the winning tickets, both Lottery retailers will receive a bonus check for $2,000.

Jersey Cash 5 - how does it work?

For those who have never played Jersey Cash 5 and want to get in on this jackpot-splitting fun, we take a look at the daily draw game from the New Jersey Lottery. The drawings for Jersey Cash 5 take place every night at 10:57 p.m. ET.

Each ticket costs $1. You will select five numbers between 1 and 45. If you aren't feeling lucky in picking your own numbers, you can choose the Quick Pick option. For this, the computer will generate five numbers for you randomly.

Players can also choose the XTRA option for Jersey Cash 5 for an additional $1 per play per draw. What does the XTRA option do? If you pay that extra $1, then any non-jackpot Jersey Cash 5 prize you may win will increase.

For example, if you happen to match three or more of the numbers drawn, excluding the jackpot, then your prize would be multiplied by the XTRA Multiplier. In addition, players who include the XTRA option can also win $2 for only matching two of the numbers drawn.

There is also the Instant Match option for Jersey Cash 5 players. Players can add this for $1 extra per play, and it gives you the chance to win up to $500 instantly.

The jackpots for Jersey Cash 5 start at $100,000 and roll over until someone wins it.
