Claiming your winning ticket

In New York, any lottery draw game prize can be claimed up to one year from the date of the drawing. Depending on how much you win, we will tell you how to claim your prize. Before claiming your prize, keep in mind that you need the original ticket in order to claim your winnings. You should also sign the back of the ticket and store it somewhere safe until you are ready to claim your money.

Any prizes of $600 or less can be claimed at any licensed New York Lottery retailer. If you would like to, you can also schedule an appointment at any of the Lottery's Customer Service Centers or mail the winning ticket and proper documents to the lottery.

If you are lucky enough to have won $601 or more, you can schedule an appointment to claim your prize at one of the Lottery's Customer Service Centers. You can also redeem your winnings at a local Prize Claim Center, where no appointment is required. The final option for prizes of $601 or more is to mail the winning ticket and claim form to the lottery.

To redeem your prize, you will need to provide:

  • The winning ticket
  • Filled-out Winner Claim Form
  • Valid government-issued ID
  • Valid Social Security Number or FEIN.
